📝 Adaptive Messaging based on the Age of Information in VANETs In their paper, Jordi Marias-i-Parella (i2CAT), Oluwaseun Ajayi, and Yu Cheng (Illinois Institute of Technology) address collisions in cooperative awareness messages (CAMs) within 802.11p vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). 📶 They introduce an adaptive CAM messaging algorithm that utilises the age of information (AoI) to optimise messaging frequency based on mobility status and network congestion. Designed as a state-of-the-art monitoring solution for high-security applications, the FSS1 uses seven magnetic sensors to detect the unique magnetic footprint of the magnets on the opposing faceplate. One sensor to detect the distance of the magnetic faceplate in relation to the device, while the other six sensors are used to determine the polarity, size, strength and position of the magnets on the unique faceplate. This three-dimensional data is registered into the device.
