Architect || Interior Designer || I Craft Thoughtfully Planned Interior Spaces where Functionality, Comfort, Lifestyle & Productivity all Blend Together || 2023 Owl Awards recipient @ TLDP
My journey this year as a remote designer. It's been interesting considering how it started. A few weeks after my final exams in university... I was accepted as a remote junior designer 💡 Shortly after, I applied for my first project. It was the renovation of a resort center. There were so many areas of the project that seemed intimidating to me. It wasn't until I came into agreement with fear that I gave up. I opted out of my first project after a week. _________________________________________ This month, I came across a post of the winner of that project, I recognized the resort centre even after so many changes to the interiors. The project has been completed. The project didn't wait till I was ready. Fear keeps us stuck while things move on. There's a saying I came across on LinkedIn recently. ''It's about the journey, not just the destination''. The doing is often more important than the outcome. 💡 What changed? I learnt to focus more on learning and implementing. It's what made the difference. I started ''doing''. Fast forward to today.. 🎯 I participated in 3 projects with the firm. 🎯 I won 2 projects. 🎯 I made it to the final stage of my third project. 🎯 I'm the only Nigerian receiving an owl award. 🎯 Built connections with my mentors. God has really helped me, honestly. I remember how the year started, and I see all that God blessed me with. Let's go bigger, better and bolder together in 2024. Here's to us still doing things despite the fears🥇 #linkedin #linkedincommunity #interiordesign #awardwinningdesign #interiordesigner #interiorarchitecture

This Thursday at MCEC! Looking forward to hearing from Libby Staggs presentation and then unpacking this important issue in our industry with these experts on the panel including Katherine Featherstone Product Aware asks suppliers questions around modern slavery - for example if they have had any incidences in their supply chain and if they have a Modern Slavery Action Plan. It may sound like a hard task to abolish modern day slavery but we felt this was such an important factor to highlight and prioritise when selecting products. We know that supply chains involve labour that can be hard to trace, but that doesn’t mean we can be complacent. Slavery is regrettably embedded in the history of the construction industry and continues today. Unfortunately many people forget about the construction industry when discussing these issues and instead focus on for example, only the fashion industry. Hopefully we can work together as an industry to end these harmful working conditions for other people, like ourselves, with families, who deserve respect. If you care about where and how your products are made, please ask your suppliers to answer the questions on www.productaware.com.au. Tickets to the event available here: https://lnkd.in/gp3QUDXV
I'm really looking forward to a meaningful Q&A session at the Green Design Show next Thursday. I'll be joined by Katherine Featherstone, Isabella Peppard Clark and Sasha Titchkosky and we'll be exploring "How can the Design Industry Help Stop Modern Slavery?" Can't wait to hear their thoughts, perspectives and ideas for meaningful action. If you're an architect, designer, retailer or product manufacturer and are keen to learn some key insights, I'd love to see you there. Great design is where art, craftsmanship, innovation and intentionality all meet. Design is so much more than just how things look. That’s why everything we create is inspired through collaboration, with a commitment to sustainability, and rooted in insights into the ways in which people want to engage with the outdoors—and with one another. Founder and Creative Director at KRANE with expertise in Menswear and Leather Bag Design and Creative Direction.
In the burgeoning Digital Age, there is a notable advantage, in cultivating our cognitive capabilities to effectively curate and manage our body of work in a meticulously organized and chronological fashion. Allow me to present a glimpse into my past endeavors—a design conceived in 2013 as part of a collaborative effort with a distinguished well-received brand. Teaming up with Alicia Molitor and her team of esteemed professionals at Kenneth Cole Productions, I crafted a prototype that epitomized innovation—a laptop bag seamlessly integrated into a dual-themed collection. This collection delineated between tailored and urban aesthetics, catering to diverse sensibilities. Regrettably, despite its promise, this prototype did not progress beyond the conceptual stage in 2013. However, with the evolution of contemporary trends and technological advancements, one cannot help but ponder its potential resonance in the present era. In light of this, I am intrigued to explore the possibilities of revisiting and reimagining this design in the context of the modern landscape.
