For local applications, we also outperformed the statutory target of 15 weeks with an average processing time of only 13 weeks, continuing a consistent trend of high performance. Today marks 3 years since I took a leap of faith. After 27 years in corporate event management at Danone, leaving the familiarity of my role was both emotional and daunting. I had no idea what the 'outside world' would be like after spending nearly three decades with the same company. Danone was fantastic in supporting my transition, and Precious Lucas was instrumental in helping me through this process - something I’ll always be grateful for. When I left, I was fortunate enough to receive an offer from a large bank in London. The contract offered double the salary I was leaving behind, and on paper, it seemed like the perfect next step. But when it came time to sign, my gut told me to pause. After 27 years in corporate life, I realised I had the opportunity to do what I truly love and what I’m great at, event management. That was the moment MTL Events was born. Starting a business had never been on my radar, I always thought I’d retire at Danone. But, I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason. Looking back now, I know this leap of faith was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Today, I am proud to call myself a business owner. I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have supported me on this journey, especially Juliet Tripp, my wonderful clients who trust me to deliver their amazing events, and for the opportunity to create a business I truly love. I’m not sure why I’m sharing this, but if it inspires just one person to follow their dreams, it will be worth it. Finding a new job can be a challenging and often disheartening experience, much like England’s recent loss in the Euros. Yet, both scenarios highlight the importance of resilience. When England fell short in the Euros, it was a moment of disappointment for the team and fans alike. Despite their best efforts, the outcome wasn’t what they had hoped for. THG appoints a Non-Executive Director 👏 THG is a global e-commerce group operating through two leading consumer businesses: THG Beauty and THG Nutrition. They have decided to appoint Milyae Park as an independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. Tesco and Marks & Spencer are just two of the firms where Park has had a lengthy career in digital and e-commerce transformation. At the moment, she is a Non-Executive Director of Fidelity European Trust, Alliance Witan, and Faber and Faber. She previously served as the Museum of London's chair from 2019 to 2023 in addition to her positions as governor, brand, and digital advocate. Is it wrong to be competitive? I recently attended a team-building event in Dublin with some of my colleagues. It was filled with laughter, collaboration, and yes - friendly competition. At the end of the day, I was awarded the prize for being the most "craic" player (that's Irish slang for "fun"). But I couldn’t help but wonder - did they mean fun or competitive? 🤔 For a long time, being called competitive made me uncomfortable. It felt like something negative, like it was a trait I should hide. But here’s what I’ve learned from this experience: - I had so much fun! I laughed a lot and made sure my teammates were having just as much fun. - My competitiveness didn’t just drive me - it boosted my teammates’ energy and even motivated the opposing teams to bring their A-game. It was contagious. - Competition isn’t just about winning. It fueled creativity, pushing us to solve problems in new ways and collaborate better. So yes, I am competitive. And as long as it’s paired with fun, growth, and respects, there’s nothing wrong with that! 🏆 What do you think? Do you see competition as a positive or negative force in the workplace?

THIS IS IT. CLAP DE FIN My two year contract with Business France in New York has come to an end. What a journey it has been! Arriving in this incredible city, and diving into a business culture completely new to me—I am forever grateful for this experience.   I loved my job—how could I not? Supporting many French producers as they developed market entry strategies in the U.S. has been incredibly rewarding. I had the privilege of building a robust network of importers, distributors, and retailers, all of whom taught me invaluable lessons about the U.S. retail and foodservice industries. A special thanks to everyone who played a part (end even helped me in my job search!). 🙌   Throughout this journey, I've learned a great deal. Some of the key insights include: - 🤝Doing business in the US is not the same as in France. The rules are different, and successful partnerships are built on reactivity, trust, and strong relationships. - 🥖French products have huge potential due to their well-known quality and savoir-faire. However, it's not enough to rely on this alone to drive sales. Products from Italy, Spain, Greece, and beyond are also incredibly appealing. Standing out from the crowd is essential. - 📊There is a market for everyone, as long as you choose the right strategy in terms of channels, geography, and positioning.   Lastly, this experience has shown me the immense potential of the U.S. food market for French products, as well as how relatively small and vibrant the French food sector in the U.S. is, making it incredibly stimulating to be a part of it.   A big thank you to Jacques and the entire Business France North America team for these past 24 months.   Guess what? I’m not leaving the food and beverage world, and I’m certainly not leaving New York🍎   Stay tuned for the next chapter, et bonne rentrée! (I’ll definitely miss my colleagues and this beautiful sunset view.)

In 2024: -January: I received the news that I achieved Pinnacle Club status for 2023. -February: I attended an exceptional Sales Kick Off in Minnesota, where I connected with a remarkable group of professionals. -March: I graduated with a Masters Degree. -April: I enjoyed an all-expenses-paid trip to Curacao as a reward for reaching Pinnacle Club status, creating unforgettable memories. -May: I Received news that the role I cherished for the past two years would be dissolved, necessitating adaptation to a new role or departure from the company. Upon hearing this news, I experienced a mix of fear and disappointment, especially after experiencing some of the most fulfilling months of my adult life. However, I refused to let this unfortunate news paralyze me. Instead, I sought clarity by asking pertinent questions and initiated discussions within my professional circles. These conversations led to valuable insights and opportunities. Though daunting, stepping into an uncertain future is a prerequisite for growth. I am determined to embrace this change and explore the new opportunities it brings.

By having fun. For me, work should revolve around an atmosphere of fun. I think I was a chef in my former life. I work closely with a lot of fraternal and non-profit organizations on weekends (if my 18 year old daughter, who is a college freshman, doesn't have a game!).
