In recent years, China’s onshore and offshore bond markets have transformed in fundamental ways: While the markets for panda bonds, dim sum bonds, and sustainable finance continue to grow, overall market sentiment and cross-border issuance has suffered from rising inflation and interest rates, as well as heightened geopolitical tensions. In 2024, the macroeconomic outlook remains uncertain but we can expect new innovations in both the Chinese domestic and international bond markets. The forum will bring together government officials, regulators, issuers, investors, and other market participants for a full day event on the current state and the future development of the Chinese domestic and international bond markets. The event will explore a number of themes including primary market issuance trends, transition finance and taxonomies, repo and secondary markets, fintech and digital bonds, Chinese regulatory reforms, and potential new opportunities in the cross-border capital markets.  This in-person event will be conducted in English and Chinese with simultaneous translation.
