📣 Flattie: A Collapsible, Recyclable Cork Helmet ⚙️ Industry : Sports 📍 Country : Portugal 💡 The Averio University has developed a unique product named "Flattie", a helmet made from cork, a natural product. This helmet is designed to be fully collapsible, allowing it to be stored flat when not in use. This feature makes it highly convenient for users who need to carry it around, especially for sports enthusiasts who require a portable and lightweight helmet. The use of cork provides excellent shock absorption, making it a safe choice for various sports activities. The helmet, when unfolded, maintains a robust structure that can withstand significant impact, providing the necessary protection for the user. When not in use, it can be easily folded down to a flat shape, making it extremely compact and easy to store. Despite its collapsible nature, Flattie does not compromise on the user's safety. #InnovativeDesign #SafetyFirst #SustainableMaterials #SportsGear — ✅ This is one of the 585 circular solutions (from 52 countries) available in DICES. #inspiration #eyeswideopen

🌟 New Challenge Alert! 🌟How might we get the Danish consumers and companies to consider buying used electronics instead of new? Paving the way towards a more circular future Electronic Reuse and Recycling is working hard to prolong the life of our discarded but still very functional electronic hardware. Having a strong partnership and setup for collecting and repairing what we throw away, the main problem is actually getting us consumers to consider buying used electronics instead of new. “We all have a responsibility to limit our resource consumption. We need to change our mindset so that the products we dispose of are no longer seen as waste, but instead as valuable items to be integrated into the circular economy. This is essential for achieving a more sustainable development. We need to consume fewer resources, and we can do that by reusing more. Therefore, it is very important that the purchase of used electronics also becomes part of the Danish consumer's mindset when, for example, we need to buy a drill or something for our kitchen. When our facility is fully built, we will annually extract approximately 60,000 units for reuse. We would like to contribute to 'cracking the code' on how to get Danish consumers and Danish companies to think about reuse before they think about buying new. Therefore, we are very much looking forward to participating in the Circular Design Camp and seeing what innovative, green, and creative ideas the young people have that can help guide us in the right direction.” - Mette Lilholm Lorenzen, Director/CEO, Electronic Reuse & Recycle ✨ Do you wanna pitch in on cracking the code? Ever heard of Eco-Design? It’s a design philosophy that considers the environmental aspects in the development process of your products. This means using fewer or better materials, choosing ones that can be easily repaired and reused, are non-toxic and biodegradable, and abundant enough to be produced easily. By the time they reach you, your products will already have lower emissions, will be easier to recycle, and last longer, saving you money and minimizing your footprint. That’s why eco-design is at the heart of everything we do. Learn more: http://spr.ly/6007Y0wvR
