Self-perceived learning outcomes of virtual and in-person academic detailing among general practitioners in Norway New study in Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology aimed to compare virtual and in-person academic detailing (AD) among Norwegian general practitioners (GPs) regarding self-perceived learning outcomes. The GPs rated seven statements concerning knowledge and skills in pharmacotherapy of migraine before and after AD. Positive self-perceived learning outcomes were observed among 80-88% of the GPs. No significant differences between virtual and in-person AD were observed. Authors suggest in-person and virtual AD as alternative methods to improve knowledge and skills in rational pharmacotherapy among GPs. Driven by updated FDA guidance on clinical pharmacology studies as part of Project Optimus, ensuring you get your clinical dose right the first time of asking is becoming a greater priority across the biopharma world. Dosing to the MTD has been a historic strategy for ADC developers but in light of these regulatory updates that is now off the cards leading to those working with ADCs needing to utilize preclinical pharmacokinetic, bioanalytic, modeling and simulation data to make a more informed decision of their FIH dose to optimize efficacy whilst limiting toxicity. The first ADC Pharmacokinetic and Clinical Pharmacology Summit comprises a highly focused conversation to understand the PK of your ADCs analytes in vivo, optimize modelling and allometric scaling to improve prediction of the optimal FIH dose and explore how best to dose in combination studies.
