The concept of taxis have been around since the 17th century and while the industry has experienced a recent resurgence, the #transportation landscape has changed significantly with the introduction of ride-sharing services and changing consumer demand. Felix Shneur, owner of Metro Cab, the largest taxi-cab fleet in greater #Boston, recently joined Nightside with Dan Rea on WBZ Newsradio 1030 to discuss the evolution of taxis and the future ahead. Shneur walks through some of the challenges the industry faced and how they were able to bounce back in the increasingly competitive space. According to Shneur, this comeback was largely due to the innovative solutions provided by Curb. With unique features like no surge fares and Upfront Pricing, taxis are able to remain competitive with riders. Curb’s driver-first commitment and groundbreaking initiatives like Curb Flow, which optimizes driver income opportunities through an advanced #API solution, have further empowered drivers and helped revitalize the industry. #Uber has revolutionized the ride-sharing industry, but not without significant hurdles. Issues like driver dissatisfaction, safety concerns, and regulatory battles have cast shadows over its success. Recently, Uber was granted a license to operate private hire cars in York city once again after a six-year ban, highlighting the ongoing controversies and regulatory challenges it faces. As we navigate this complex landscape, it’s crucial to explore alternative models that address these problems more effectively. In this article, which was part of my coursework on Organisational design & Value Creation with Nuno Gil, I have discussed how #Alto Drive's unique business model stands out by prioritizing driver welfare, passenger safety, and regulatory compliance. This article argues Alto’s business model, how it creates value, how it differs from giant players in the market, and how it could expand, considering its challenges. The ride-hailing industry is broken,so we decided to fix it. For too long, drivers have been overworked and underpaid, while passengers have faced rising prices and longer wait times. At Ride Nuff, we're building a fairer, driver-led alternative that benefits both drivers and riders. ✅ 0% commission – Drivers keep what they earn ✅ Lower fares for passengers – Without cutting into drivers' pay ✅ A ride-hailing app built for the people who power it Watch our video to see why change is overdue and why thousands of drivers are already joining us. This is just the beginning. #DriveTheChange

During my recent trip to Boston, I used Lyft and Uber to get around the city. While I appreciated the convenience of these ride-hailing services, I couldn't help but notice a consistent issue with the drivers. Many of them were on personal calls during the ride, which not only made for an unpleasant experience as a passenger but also caused the driver to miss my dropoff location. I believe that ride-hailing services should prioritize the customer experience and ensure that their drivers are focused on providing a safe and efficient ride. While I understand that there may be exceptions, this should not be the norm. Have you experienced a similar situation while using ride-hailing services? Share your thoughts in the comments below. #ridesharing #customerservice #ridersafety
