3DLoom in Action 👨🔬 Below we have a 3D scanned and 3D printed model of a stomach, pancreas and duodenum together with the surrounding blood vessels of a patent suffering from a stomach tumor. A total gastrectomy with an esephago-jejuno Roux-en-Y anastomosis was performed on the patient. Precise surgical planning using the 3D printed model was essential in contributing for the procedure to be done without any complications, and the patient to recover. The procedure was done at University Clinic for Surgical Diseases "St. Naum Ohridski" by Dr.Valon Saliu and Dr.Stefan Arsenkov #3DLoom #MedicalTechnology #AIinHealthcare #3DModeling #SurgicalInnovation #HealthcareTransformation

Opioid Sparing Orthopedic Surgeon Healer of Knees and Shoulders Left and Right, Host of The Ortho Show Podcast, Chief Medical Officer OrthoLazer Orthopedic Laser Centers, TEDx Talk Speaker
The advancements in joint replacement are remarkable. This weeks episode of The Ortho Show features restor3d a joint replacement company that makes custom personalized implants for patients. These are not off the shelf implants. They use a CT scan to digitize each patients anatomy and then use 3D printers to manufacture a one of a kind implant for each patient. Here Ken Gall describes how restor3d has been able to scale that process. In addition, we get the clinical perspective from two of the leading authorities on personalized implants Gregory M. Martin, MD for the hip and knee and R. James Toussaint, M.D. for the foot and ankle. The data and the manufacturing process are remarkable. I know Ivan Tornos and Aldo Denti are paying attention. #followthefro Conformis - acquired by restor3d

Chief of A.C.H.D. Center and Pediatric Arrhythmology at A.O.U. Città della Salute e della Scienza di Torino - OIRM - Italy
Three-dimensional (3D) printing is a state-of-the-art technique capable of transforming digital objects into physical models . In interventional cardiology, it allows to create realistic anatomical models in order to visualize, before procedures, relations between the different anatomic structures. This can be particularly useful in complex congenital heart diseases (CHD), where the anatomy is atypical. A 32-year-old male with complex CHD and advanced atrioventricular block was referred to our Center for PM implantation. The underlying anatomy was dextrocardia, ccTGA, VSD and pulmonary atresia. After palliation with Blalock-Taussig (BT) shunt at birth, he underwent Hemi-Mustard, Rastelli and BTG procedures with placement of a Hancock valved conduit in the pulmonary position. In 2019, he needed a surgical replacement of the conduit with Homograft due to development of significant stenosis. A single-chamber pacemaker implantation was considered to be of benefit to the patient and he was considered for admission in the heart transplant list, and we use 3D printing transparent model to assist the implantation. This procedure (unique in our knowledge) underlines importance of obtaining an accurate pre-procedural 3D model that can be used to clarify relations between cardiac structures, particularly after corrective surgeries. This allows to perform the procedure in our patients in a safer way and with shorter duration. #pacing #A.C.H.D. #3Dprinting #3Dheart #interventionalcardiology

We are so happy to share that the first OPTIX H3 Case in Ohio has been completed by Stephen Frania, DPM! 🦶 OPTIX™ H3 Patient Specific Instrumentation System is a patient specific surgical planning and instrumentation to assist in the positioning of total ankle replacement components intraoperatively, and in guiding bone cutting. Through the combination of 3D engineering and the patient’s own CT scan, a patient-specific preoperative plan is developed and tailored to fit surgeon preferences. Implant sizing and alignment are determined using the patient’s anatomic landmarks, and DuraForm® PA (nylon) Preoperative Navigation Cut Guides are then created which set resection guide locations. 1️⃣ Reduced Surgical Procedural Complexity 2️⃣ Decreased Operating Time 3️⃣ Rapid 3D Printing Technology - From CT Scan to Surgery in as little as 4 weeks.
