In honor of National Intern Day today, I asked LinkedIn members to share advice on landing an internship in a range of industries from finance to tech. Here's what they recommend: 🧑💻 Tech and information management: Gain on-campus experience, research potential employers, attend networking events, showcase your differentiating factor and take initiative. 👩💼 Finance, accounting and consulting: Start looking early, prepare to impress in an interview, stay current on industry trends and demonstrate curiosity and creativity. 👨🏫 Marketing, advertising and communications: Create a list of target companies, develop transferable skills, create experience for yourself, show that you're proactive and network in real time. 👩⚕️ Health care and medicine: Find your niche, get comfortable with cold emailing, leverage networking groups and craft a compelling resume.
