Don't overlook the people part of the M&A process. Employees often feel anxiety during an M&A, which can hurt productivity and increase turnover. Be proactive about addressing employee anxiety. Consider bringing management from both organizations to create an integration plan that organizes departments, functions, roles, and talent.
