Cushman & Wakefield, Advisory+ team in collaboration with the Tasmanian Government's Department of State Growth, is driving the Pre-Registration of Interest (RoI) process to identify partners for the development and operation of a new ice rink facility in Greater Hobart. This marks the initial step in a multi-stage process to bring this exciting project to life. Following the closure of Tasmania’s only ice rink in Glenorchy in 2022, the Tasmanian Ice Rink Feasibility Study, completed earlier this year, identified a preferred site and emphasised the potential social and economic benefits. This project presents a unique opportunity to reinvigorate ice sports in Tasmania while providing the broader community with a much-needed recreational facility. Interested private operators, developers, and investors are encouraged to submit their Pre-Registration of Interest by clicking here: https://cushwk.co/4fK2xcs #CushWake #AdvisoryPlus #RecreationalFacility #CommunityDevelopment #InvestmentOpportunity

A FIRST OF ITS KIND, BECAUSE ITS NOT HARD TO DO. In what should be a unique event and the first in five years of cleaning up other peoples rubbish the TIDY Group has connected with a private landholder and a local horse club to tackle a publicly accessed land bank in a combined event using both 4WD and Horses, this will be quite unique. The land holder in a gentleman’s agreement has agreed to keep the land open and accessible until the property is sold so the club can continue having access and we will work together to maintain it. This is something I have NOT been able to achieve with the State Government in fact they are obstructive in this regard. *The LOSS of managed multipurpose recreational areas nearby large scale developments is a mainstay of crap behavior that occurs when there is no where to “play” and inevitable waste is not planned for and offences are not actioned.* These well planned and executed events that happen multiple times a year are the mainstay of the initiative and demonstrate what can be done when you put your mind to it. The Local, State and Federal Governments and planning departments could well learn from this but don’t because they are so caught up in mindless squabbling of the he said she said and the not my patch not my problem and it’s not written BS. If we want to make any timely difference and improve outcomes then we need to stop farting around and just get the job done. Not seen in the video are number of other massive dumps of household waste, tyres, road waste, and other items. Thanks to the Great American Outdoors Act, your next visit to Hot Springs National Park can include a trip to two historic bathhouse buildings. One of the main attractions for the park's 2.6 million annual visitors is Bathhouse Row, yet there's a 23,000 square foot bathhouse that's been shuttered and unused for nearly 50 years. A multi-million dollar investment from the Great American Outdoors Act will help improve visitor experiences while giving the park an economically viable leasing opportunity for these historic structures. Hundreds of projects are underway to improve national parks for the staff who care for them and the visitors who enjoy them. One thing is clear: our parks need more help. Join NPCA in urging Congress to keep investing in our national parks and extend GAOA by at least five more years! https://lnkd.in/ej6auypb #GreatAmericanOutdoorsAct #ProtectOurParks #ParkFunding #HotSpringsNationalPark

Westchester County’s parks have for the fifth time received accreditation by the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA). NRPA operates the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). NRPA describes CAPRA as providing the only national accreditation of park and recreation departments and a valuable measure of a department’s overall quality of operation, management, and service to the community. #Parks #Westchester

The greenway along the Saline River is going to expand, and about 45 acres of property will preserved in perpetuity. The Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission purchased the land from the Grossman Family, and it aims to improve the environment and add recreational opportunity. 89.1 WEMU-FM's David Fair spoke with Parks and Recreation Stewardship Planner Allison Krueger about the project. https://lnkd.in/d3-j2bMN

Ontario does not have enough 50m pools to support its growing population, leaving many Ontarians without equitable access to the recreational, social, and economic benefits provided by pools. That’s why the Aquatic Sport Council of Ontario (ASC) has launched Building More Aquatic Centres in Ontario, a white paper designed to support government and industry stakeholders in planning for Ontario’s future sport and community infrastructure. The NSW Government has just completed and released the results from their #Moore #Park #Golf #Course redevelopment study. The fully engagement report is at the link below. This is a highly contentious issue, as the general community fully supports converting a large swath of the current golf course to a #parklands, whilst the golfing community is not supportive in any way. It would appear that it is going to happen. I am fully supportive of any opportunity to provide more #public #open #space for the community, and not have it allocated for one specific user group. Here is a quote from the report: 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑁𝑆𝑊 𝐺𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑔 20 ℎ𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑀𝑜𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑆𝑜𝑢𝑡ℎ 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑛 𝑠𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑖𝑡𝑦.
