To all of the women (and anyone) talking about how #VAW should be considered acts of "terrorism" against women (which we agree) — and yet have not uttered a peep about the women and children in Palestine. Please read this: "Palestinian women and children have been subjected to these egregious crimes against humanity and war crimes. Because they are Palestinian but because they are women also." ―"We know that 30,000 estimated Palestinians have been killed, 70% of them are women and children. It's really unacceptable that this situation of an unfolding genocide is allowed to continue." "But make no mistake, what happens in Palestine will not remain confined to Palestine. Perpetrators of violence against women and children have taken note of the absolute impunity with which Israel has been able to carry out its crimes - day in and day out, in broad daylight, for all to see, using the most sophisticated weapons. If the world can watch in real time a full-blown genocide unfolding against Palestinian civilians, what hopes for attention and justice do women and children have in other parts of the world that do not even register on our screens or our collective conscience?" "The complete disregard for women’s and children’s lives during times of war cannot be delinked from the violence they are increasingly facing in times of “peace”. We often speak about continuums of violence, and in many countries, the rise of femicide, along with moves to control and exploit women, pose ongoing serious challenges." "With regards to the violence inflicted on women and children in Gaza, the silence and selectivity of some national and international organisations has been both deafening and an eye-opener." "Collectively, the way we treat women and children can contribute to their dehumanisation and to legitimising the onslaughts against them." - Reem Alsalem, UNSR Violence Against Women and Girls

BEYOND BORDERS: ADDRESSING GLOBAL SILENCE ON SEXUAL VIOLENCE AGAINST ISRAELI WOMEN. A CALL TO ACTION The issue of sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists on October 7 demands our attention and action. While I could have shared firsthand accounts of these atrocities, I chose to wait for the release of the UN report to assess the situation objectively. Now, it is abundantly clear that Hamas terrorists have committed egregious acts of sexual violence in a systematic and sadistic manner. These crimes include rape, mutilation, and executions, often carried out in front of family members and children. The silence of women's organizations and the UN Secretary-General on this matter is deafening and deeply troubling. It is imperative that we do not turn a blind eye to the suffering of Israeli women, simply because of where they were born. The United Nations, founded in the wake of the Holocaust and genocide, must not remain silent in the face of such atrocities. By failing to condemn these acts, the UN inadvertently legitimizes sexual violence against Israeli women. We cannot allow this asymmetrical treatment to continue. One chilling testimony from a captured Hamas terrorist highlights the warped justification for these crimes: blaming the victims for their attire and appearance. This victim-blaming mentality must be unequivocally rejected. We must collectively wake up to the reality of sexual violence as a weapon of terror. The rape of living and dead women is a brutal tactic employed by jihadists, with indirect legitimacy granted by the silence of global organizations. This is a call to action. Let us not wait until these horrors reach your doorstep. We must stand in solidarity with the victims and demand accountability for those who commit such heinous acts. #october7massacre #october7 #hamasisis #terrorism #EndSexualViolence #jihad #TerrorRape #GlobalSilence #sexualviolence #metoo #survivor #rape

On 29 July 2024, a stabbing attack in Southport killed three young girls and injured ten more. The resultant riots spread based first on anti-Muslim misinformation and then wider anti-migrant hate. The level of violence offline and extremist material online has highlighted extreme right-wing (ERW) hate in the UK, and the changing landscape that this threat poses to public safety and democracy. ISD’s explainer covers: ➡️ The ways in which the ERW has adapted online, moving away from the hierarchical, top-down structures which characterised earlier iterations towards more nebulous and decentralised networks which are harder to track and counteract. ➡️ The normalisation of a generalised anti-migrant mobilisation, which manifested during the August 2024 riots in attempts to burn down two hotels housing asylum seekers and alleged ‘race checkpoints’. ➡️ The sharp rise in anti-Muslim hate, a longer-standing trend which was supercharged following the 7 October attack on Israel by Hamas, the Israeli military response and the pro-Palestinian protest movement. https://lnkd.in/dNmJypYE

🚨 NEW Expert Series — Conflict-related Sexual Violence in the Ukraine War In this episode of the #ExpertSeries, we meet with Dr. Jessica Trisko Darden and Dr. Kateryna Busol to discuss conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and its implications in the Ukraine war. “Because of the lack of attention and the lack of response [against #Russia’s] escalated, full scale invasion [of #Ukraine], these crimes [of sexual violence and torture] have skyrocketed. [The visibility of] documentation, investigation and telling the world about the atrocities that Russia is perpetrating […] has to be sustained. It’s not a one-time initiative.” Listen now for expert insights: ➡️ YouTube – https://bit.ly/3XTlrqO ➡️ Spotify – https://spoti.fi/3TFGkTS #canada #russia #ukraine #defence #security #defencepolicy #geopolitics

Certainly! The evidence of war crimes committed during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is deeply troubling. Here are some key findings: Amnesty International Report (October 2023): Amnesty International documented unlawful Israeli attacks in Gaza, including indiscriminate attacks that caused mass civilian casualties. These attacks must be investigated as war crimes. Survivors’ testimonies highlighted how Israeli bombardments decimated Palestinian families, leaving little but rubble to remember their loved ones. UN Commission Findings (June 2024): The UN-backed commission found that Israel committed war crimes, including “extermination,” murder, and gender persecution targeting Palestinian men and boys. Responsibility: Israeli authorities were found responsible for war crimes such as starvation, murder, attacks against civilians, sexual violence, and torture. The situation remains deeply concerning. It’s essential to raise awareness about these violations and advocate for justice and accountability. 🕊️ #stopwarcrimesinpalestine #stopgenocideinpalestine

Many times I see the tendency in the world to make a comparison between Hamas and the IDF, in an attempt to show that these are two sides of a balanced struggle. There is no doubt that these are two sides, but there is no balance here. It is true that there are those who see Hamas's struggle as a struggle for liberation, but anyone who digs deeper, understands that there is really nothing to liberate and that the whole goal of their struggle is to destroy the State of Israel, even if it is at the cost of the lives of all the martyred residents of Gaza. There are those who try to paint the army's damage in the same way as Hamas's damage. let's distinguish in a number of elements: intention, ability, tactics and execution. Intention: Hamas's stated intention is to create murderous terror to destroy Israel at any cost, even at the cost of the lives of the residents of Gaza. Regarding Israel, the intention is to protect his citizens and its sovereignty in its state. Hamas's tactics is the creation of intimidation, massive destruction and abuse of civilians in order to deter and convey a declarative message of terrorism. Israel's tactic is to fight Hamas wherever it is, unfortunately it is entrenched in population concentrations and therefore Israel is harming Hamas while trying to reduce as much as possible harm to non-involved residents. Hamas's execution is to harm in the most significant way possible without distinguishing between civilians and soldiers. He murders, rapes, massacres, dismembers and kidnaps children, women, old people, babies and adults. He launches missiles from Gazan population concentrations at Israeli population concentrations. Israel's execution is a war of existence following the 7th of October attack, carrying out targeted countermeasures against senior Hamas officials, bombing Hamas headquarters, launchers and tunnel shafts which unfortunately are inside civilian buildings such as buildings, schools, mosques, hospitals and other institutions. Comparing Hamas to the IDF is as ridiculous as comparing the release of the Israeli abductees to the release of Palestinian prisoners. The abductees are citizens who were violently abducted from their homes and did not receive basic rights according to international law such as Red Cross visits, medicine, nutrition and basic conditions. Many of them were mentally, physically and sexual abuse. In contrast, the Palestinian prisoners are detainees who committed or attempted to commit acts of terrorism and murder on national or religious grounds. They are entitled to all rights including food, medicine, visits by lawyers and representatives of human rights organizations, they even receive funding for studies. So next time if you think to compare, you should remember that there are differences that even those lacking in integrity and morality can understand and no amount of hatred of Israel or Jews can cause these differences to be ignored.

As we learned last night, the Dems have: NO MISSION NO VISION NO PLAN All the Dems have is Trump hate and a strong desire to run the country into the ground! We know what both of these candidates will due based on their past actions. If you are thinking about voting for the Dems and Kamala, ask yourself: Do you want more illegal aliens crossing the border unhindered? Do you want to house and feed these illegal aliens? Do you want to spend taxpayer money on educating these illégal aliens? Do you want more crime? Do you want inflation to rise again? Do you want to appease our enemies and aid and abet terrorists and terrorist nations like Iran? Do you want biological boys competing against girls? Do you want to fund operations that mutilate underage children? Do you want to play politics with Israel's safety and negotiate terrorists? Do you want the war in Ukraine to last another 4 years?

The establishment of the 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 represents a monumental step forward in addressing crimes that deeply impact children across Africa. Historically, the pursuit of justice for grave violations of children’s rights has faced formidable challenges particularly, where perpetrators, including terrorist groups and traffickers, remain at large or unaccounted for, perpetuating cycles of violence. With its broad jurisdiction encompassing severe crimes such as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, terrorism, and human trafficking, the merged Court is uniquely equipped to enhance accountability. 🎙️ Hon. Why is it that some pro-Palestinian supporters in Canada can’t denounce the hatred and antisemitic actions committed in their name? Supporting a cause should never mean turning a blind eye to the extremism or hatred that some factions may carry out in its name. Yet, we often see silence when it comes to condemning antisemitic incidents connected to pro-Palestinian demonstrations. If we fail to speak out against such actions, does it imply complicity? Remaining silent on acts of hate allows those extreme voices to dominate and undermine legitimate advocacy efforts. True support for a cause must include standing against any form of bigotry, violence, or intolerance. If we want meaningful progress, we must call out injustice and hate wherever it emerges. Leadership is about responsibility, not selective activism. #Canada #ImmigrationReform #PublicSafety #EnforceTheLaws #NoToHate #StrongerTogether #CanadianSecurity #AntiSemitism #JewHatred
