As consumer behaviors shift towards craving variety and convenience, third-party delivery platforms like DoorDash and Uber Eats rise to meet these demands. However, beneath the surface of this convenience lies a tangled web of costs—both financial and strategic. For restaurants, partnering with these platforms means grappling with high service fees and diluted customer loyalties, where the platform often overshadows the brand itself. This model shifts control over ordering and pricing strategies from restaurants to the platform, which can undermine a restaurant’s ability to offer personalized service and competitive pricing, ultimately impacting long-term customer relationships, brand integrity, and profit margins. The critical question for every restaurant becomes whether the immediate reach of third-party services is worth the potential compromise of their brand’s unique voice and direct connection with their customer base. #LastMileDelivery #ThirdPartyDelivery #DeliveryDrivers

If you are a restaurant owner, you are probably using DoorDash / Uber / Grubhub wrong... Keep reading if you use DoorDash/Uber/Grubhub for any of the following reasons: 1. My customers want food delivered from my restaurant 2. Their pricing works for me 3. They provide an easy online ordering system It's 2024, and while this is not an add, UniHop can do all 3 of those things Here's how you should be using DoorDash/Uber/Grubhub: 1. Customer acquisition 2. Customer acquisition 3. Customer acquisition - When a customer orders from you on one of the three --> Their bag should have a 20% off coupon flyer for their next order when they shop through your site - If the order gets damaged/stolen during transit --> Offer to send them a replacement using your internal delivery process - But if the customer is a PITA... make sure they stay a loyal marketplace customer Moral of the story: Delivery marketplaces are nothing, but a marketing tool, don't let them be anything more than that. #doordash #uber #grubhub #marketing #lastmile #delivery #logistics #restaurant #catering #floral

My $30 DoorDash order comes with a customer experience that puts most other companies to shame. I snapped this screenshot today, and I can't help but be amazed at the world we live in. With just a few taps on my phone, I can satisfy my cravings and get updates on exactly where my food is. Think about it: feeling hungry? Order a meal and track its progress right to your doorstep. If you decide you want ice cream or another snack, you can have the driver make an extra stop. We're living in an age where anyone with a phone and a few dollars can experience concierge-level service. Imagine a family dinner where everyone at the table gets exactly what they want from their favorite restaurant. Steak from one place, salad from another – it's all possible now. Technology has made it so easy to enjoy life's little luxuries, and it's truly mind-blowing. If we're living in a time when people get this high level of service for something as simple as dinner, imagine how high their expectations are for the product or service you're offering at the price you're offering. Customer experience and expectations are everything these days. What a time to be alive! #Technology #Innovation #Convenience #FoodDelivery #ModernLife #CustomerExperience #CustomerExpectations

With a GTV of $361 billion in 2023, the industry grew by 11% in the year, yet this marks a slowdown from the dizzying heights of the pandemic years. The Asia-Pacific regions are experiencing notable expansion, while Europe's growth has been more turbulent. The USA and UK, though decelerating, show robust end-of-year growth rates of 18% and 4%, respectively, suggesting a steady demand despite the market's overall maturation. Questions, as always, remain about how long this pattern lasts and what happens in the future? Big questions that theDelivery.World continues to ask – and attempts to answer. #restaurants #delivery Delivery Hero Deliveroo iFood Rappi Coupang Fulfillment Services Swiggy Zomato DoorDash Uber eats Just Eat Takeaway.com Grab #global #GTV
