two things stood out for me ◾ the word obsession doesn't always need to have negative connotations attached to it ◾ for these two, turning their combined obsession with electronic music into a business meant they achieved their goals consistently ◾ the financial success was, and is, simply a bi-product #thehighperformancepodcast #peakperformance #chaseandstatus

"Ticket prices are just astronomical right now," said David "5-1" Norman, an industry veteran who has toured with Prince, Green Day, and Alicia Keys. Why? Artists have lost their main revenue stream. Music and album sales Platforms like Spotify and Apple Music don't paint the full picture. No one knows what a certain amount of streams equates to. It's not an accurate depiction of what an artist is actually making. So where has the artist turned to to make up for this loss in revenue? Live Events. They have lifestyles to upkeep, and albums to produce and so they've got to make it back somehow. But who bears the cost? The event promoters and the fans do. Promoters are taking on even more financial risk to front these artist requests and simply to break even they have to charge the fans extortionate amounts of money. I mean the average ticket price for a Taylor Swift concert is over $1000. It becomes a financial planning decision to watch your favorite artist live. The current model is broken. How can we change this? By ensuring that everyone wins. That's what we're doing at AAA. https://lnkd.in/gZ29wVuA

I can recommend this article: https://lnkd.in/dybBAtvG Very interesting read about Iron Mountain Media and Archive Service’s experience with archived hard disks (HDD) from the 1990s and the challenge to keep data alive over time. Significant amount of data is lost - only after 30 to 35 years, - even when stored in the best conditions by the most professional player in the industry. What data would then be left and readable after 100 years? However, there is a solution to this significant challenge: a data storage solution that is: · Robust and durable, - tested and qualified for 1000 years of longevity · Self-descriptive and self-contained, i.e. all pertinent instructions, file format descriptions and source code are included · Migration free, - write once and read forever · Non-electronic · Non-magnetic · Non-hackable and inherently immutable, - data cannot be deleted or overwritten · Immune to electromagnetic and radioactive radiation · Immune to cyberattacks and digital threats · Offline and off-grid · That can be made accessible online within a short timeframe. Further: · No servers are required · No electricity is needed · The most environmentally friendly storage option, characterized by the lowest cumulative carbon footprint over time. This storage solution already exists, - it is the piqlFilm. www.piql.com
The Media and Archive Services team has noticed a trend in hard drives manufactured in the '90s: close to 20% fail to spin up. Our own Bob Koszela, Director of Global Studios Growth and Technology, sat down with Mix Magazine’s Steve Harvey to emphasize the need for the music industry to take action before it's too late.
