Tonight is a big night for many American sports fans (and Taylor Swift Fans!), but it also happens to be one of the best nights of the year for advertising campaigns: The Super Bowl! We wanted to get involved and challenged Stephen, one of our Digital Artists to create something worthy of a multi-million dollar ad campaign! His idea was a cinematic, dramatic, moody reveal inspired by the likes of Game of Thrones and The Crown. The animation was created in Blender, Unreal Engine and After Effects. What do you think? and who do you think will win? #Superbowl #UnrealEngine #Blender #AE

Cartoon Network is not shutting down, but there have been significant changes and concerns about its future. The original Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank closed in August 2023, leading to speculation about the network's fate. However, Cartoon Network continues to operate under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella, and new projects are still being developed. While the closure of the physical studio has raised concerns, it's important to note that the network itself is not shutting down. Fans can still enjoy their favorite shows, and new content is being produced. It's a challenging time for the animation industry, and the future of Cartoon Network is uncertain, but for now, the network remains a part of the entertainment landscape. #RIPCartoonNetwork #CartoonNetwork #AnimationWorkers #cartoonnetworkisdead #cartoonNetworkclosed

Notice: this hybrid constellation of symbols, narratives, and competitive idioms is the central band and "strange attractor" of a probability distribution we might otherwise recognise or identify under some definition of #entropy. In a complex system, the paths that emerge and persist are those that reproduce and sustain their environmental containers, contexts, and communication systems. (𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦.) These symbolic artifacts, entities, and systems of mythological tropes are recycled, repurposed, and revivified to reproduce the contested narratives that culturally validate and procedurally regenerate them. This is an approximation towards an average value in a high-dimensional relational and referential network of #culture, #communication, and #complexity. (𝘈 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 "𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺.") Simple stories and tokens as the normative paragons of a subjective, performative individuation and competitive belligerence, are repurposed in new-ish technological containers, orbiting the adversarial insecurity that holds the narratives together and binds us to (and through) them. (𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧; 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 "𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴" 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.) Communication systems are undergoing accelerated metamorphosis. It is true that I might be cherry-picking the facts that support my interpretations of this rapidly speciating technological complexity. However, self-selection for continuity and adaptive self-propagation in communications systems is precisely what complex sociotechnical systems do at #scale, almost entirely without human agency, teleological intent, or choice. (𝘈 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 "𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦.") H/T Doug Champion
Aussie youtuber @ToastedShoes knows how to ruin your childhood memories. 😅 You need to watch this Disney meets Mortal Kombat mod experience. 🎮 Imagine how this can combine with ScoreHMR, turning motion data from live entertainment into playable 3d animations. He gets very creative with these modded games and it shows what impact powerful storytelling (when high value IPs give people the freedom to tell their own stories) can have on visitor/customer engagement. I suggest to watch the full video on his channel, specifically when Else 'didn't let it go'! ❄ This is not just for the virtual realm, but I can see how this can drive engagement and allow brand experiences to become amplification events that broadcast hyper-personalized stories from visitors across the globe. Celebrating creative play and co-creating in social spaces. #creativestorytelling #disney #videogames #3d

Mickey Mouse, one of the most iconic characters in the realm of animation, created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1928, is set to enter the public domain. This transition marks a significant shift in the control and utilization of the character. On one hand, public domain status can be a boon for creativity, opening the doors for artists and creators to reimagine and utilize Mickey Mouse in countless new ways without the constraints of copyright. This could lead to a flourishing of new artistic expressions and innovations, potentially enriching the cultural landscape. However, there are cons to this change. The risk of Mickey Mouse's image being used in ways that degrade its original value and intent is a real concern. The character could be appropriated in contexts that are not in line with its original spirit, potentially diluting its iconic status. This uncertainty makes the outcome of entering the public domain akin to flipping a coin – it could either lead to a significant boost in creative endeavors or to the degradation of a treasured character. Notably, Disney itself has been a major beneficiary of public domain, having adapted numerous public domain stories and characters (like Snow White, Cinderella, and many others) into highly successful films and franchises. This historical context adds a layer of complexity to the conversation about Mickey Mouse's entry into the public domain, as it highlights the cyclical nature of creativity and ownership in the arts. What do you think? #smokingmickey
