Wait... what? 🔴 The NFL comes to life in the Toy Story universe. ESPN, #Disney and Pixar Animation Studios Collaborate on First-of-its-Kind NFL Game Presentation. 🏈 A broadcast like never before 🎥 This Sunday on Disney+ The real-time alternate broadcast will bring the Atlanta Falcons vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game to life in Pixar's iconic "Toy Story" Universe. This presentation complements the primary, traditional one which will also be available on ESPN+. 🤖 Technology at the Heart of the Innovation The NFL's Next Gen Stats player tracking data is at the heart of Toy Story Funday Football. This data allows ESPN's animation team to create real-time animations of every player on the field. This means that fans will be able to see Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the Toy Story gang reacting to every play in #real #time. 🏈 In addition to the player animations, ESPN's animation team has also created a fully-rendered version of Andy's room. This virtual environment will be used to recreate the entire game experience, from the opening kickoff to the final whistle. wow.

Tonight is a big night for many American sports fans (and Taylor Swift Fans!), but it also happens to be one of the best nights of the year for advertising campaigns: The Super Bowl! We wanted to get involved and challenged Stephen, one of our Digital Artists to create something worthy of a multi-million dollar ad campaign! His idea was a cinematic, dramatic, moody reveal inspired by the likes of Game of Thrones and The Crown. The animation was created in Blender, Unreal Engine and After Effects. Cartoon Network is not shutting down, but there have been significant changes and concerns about its future. The original Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank closed in August 2023, leading to speculation about the network's fate. However, Cartoon Network continues to operate under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella, and new projects are still being developed. While the closure of the physical studio has raised concerns, it's important to note that the network itself is not shutting down. Fans can still enjoy their favorite shows, and new content is being produced. In a complex system, the paths that emerge and persist are those that reproduce and sustain their environmental containers, contexts, and communication systems. This is an approximation towards an average value in a high-dimensional relational and referential network of #culture, #communication, and #complexity. (𝘈 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 "𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺.") However, self-selection for continuity and adaptive self-propagation in communications systems is precisely what complex sociotechnical systems do at #scale, almost entirely without human agency, teleological intent, or choice. This could lead to a flourishing of new artistic expressions and innovations, potentially enriching the cultural landscape. However, there are cons to this change. The risk of Mickey Mouse's image being used in ways that degrade its original value and intent is a real concern. The character could be appropriated in contexts that are not in line with its original spirit, potentially diluting its iconic status. This uncertainty makes the outcome of entering the public domain akin to flipping a coin – it could either lead to a significant boost in creative endeavors or to the degradation of a treasured character. Notably, Disney itself has been a major beneficiary of public domain, having adapted numerous public domain stories and characters (like Snow White, Cinderella, and many others) into highly successful films and franchises. This historical context adds a layer of complexity to the conversation about Mickey Mouse's entry into the public domain, as it highlights the cyclical nature of creativity and ownership in the arts.
