This Christmas, CV is proud to support The Forgotten Women, an incredible organisation chosen by our team as our Christmas charity. In Greater Brisbane alone, nearly 700 women aged over 55 are homeless - a heartbreaking reality that highlights the need for action. The Forgotten Women is dedicated to addressing this issue by providing these women with access to safe, secure and affordable housing options. At this time of year, it’s more important than ever to come together and support those in need. We’re honoured to play a small part in empowering and uplifting these women and ensuring they have the dignity and security they deserve. If you’d like to learn more about The Forgotten Women or how you can help, visit https://lnkd.in/gEDWDZu5 Together, let’s make this festive season brighter for everyone. #CVServicesGroup #TheForgottenWomen #HomelessnessAwareness #CommunitySupport #ChristmasCharity

Has your mum, grandma, aunty, sister, cousin or friend been homeless before, or are they now? What if you thought they weren’t, but they are? 🚗 In greater Brisbane alone, over 700 women over 55 are currently facing hardships. Referred to as the hidden homeless, these women are living in cars, on couches, in tents, around violent and unacceptable environments, and other complex challenges just to stay alive. This crisis expands beyond Brisbane and Queensland, this is happening all over Australia. The Forgotten Women movement is doing more than raising funds and awareness, they are setting a standard that we must do better for this cohort. That’s why this year I’ll be joining many colleagues and friends in this movement and taking part in the #LiveLikeHerChallenge. While 1 night in a car does not amount to what these women face daily, it’s in numbers we have the ability to make sure that 1 more night for a women might just be their last in unsafe, uninhabitable and unacceptable situations. Please help me by donating via the secure below link. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will get a receipt automatically via email. “Everyone deserves to live with dignity and age securely in place”. 🫶🏽 Donate: https://lnkd.in/gi-Dkwz8 Teresa Reed, Nina Schrinner, Loretta Ryan, Fleur Madden, Sharon Orapeleng, Kristy Morris, Georgie Chumbley, Antonia Mercorella, Chris Parsons, Fiona Caniglia, Jackson Hills. #BeTheChange #OurWomenDeserveBetter #SmallActBigImpact #Homelessness #LLHC2024

🌈 Today is GiveOUT Day! 🌈 Take Pride in Changing Lives and join in celebrating Australia’s annual day of giving to 120 LGBTQIA+ non-profit organisations and initiatives. I'm fundraising for Out For Australia - Australia's largest LGBTQIA+ mentoring organisation that aims to empower LGBTQIA+ people to thrive at work in the formative stages of their career. Due to ongoing stigma and discrimination LGBTQIA+ communities still face disproportionate rates of suicide, homelessness and bullying. Young people are STILL unlikely to bring their full selves to work and are unsure if they can be supported and workplaces that champion diversity. The LGBTQIA+ sector is chronically underfunded, with just 5 cents of every $100 donated reaching our communities. Together, we can ensure organisations on the front-line have the resources they need to create a safer and more inclusive Australia. Head now to giveoutday.org.au to browse the projects and select where your donation goes! Don't know where to donate? Let GiveOUT's personality quiz decide for you! #GiveOUTDay24 GiveOUT Australia

We often hear from employee Pride Networks that they would like to do more to support LGBTQIA+ community organisations, but don’t know where to start, or what would be most helpful. We have the answer for you… GiveOUT Day! GiveOUT Day (17 October 2024) is an uplifting and powerful opportunity to engage your Pride Network and make a meaningful difference in rainbow communities. GiveOUT Day is unique in that it brings together 110+ LGBTQIA+ non-profits, who are working on the front lines to increase access to healthcare, safety in our workplaces and schools, and greater equality for all people. GiveOUT Day provides an opportunity for the sector to raise funds for their vital causes and raise awareness of the incredible work that they do. There are so many ways you can get involved, and every way makes a difference! You could (see links in comments): 1. Help spread the word with your networks 2. Donate a competition prize to help motivate organisations and donors 3. Host your own mini GiveOUT Day trivia 4. Sign up as a champion and contribute directly to the fundraising efforts 5. 🚗✨ Join Us in a Night of Solidarity: Car Park Sleepout Imagine the cold creeping into your bones, the vulnerability of being alone in your car, and the uncertainty of what tomorrow holds. Now, imagine choosing to experience this, not because you have to, but because you care deeply about those who do. This Thursday, 5th September, we’re uniting with a shared purpose: to raise awareness and vital funds for women and nonbinary people who have been forced into homelessness due to family violence. Every night, too many are left with the heartbreaking choice between staying in danger or fleeing with nothing but the clothes on their backs. 💔 Your participation in the Car Park Sleepout isn’t just an act of solidarity—it’s a lifeline. By joining us, you’re helping organisations like Juno and McAuley provide the crucial support that can help these survivors find safety, healing, and hope. But this isn’t just about one night. It’s about the powerful change we can create when we stand together for those who need us most. If you can’t be there in person, your donation can still make a profound difference in someone’s life. 🌟 📍 Location: Melbourne Airport, Level 7 - Terminal 4 Car Park Registration Fee: $100 per person Let’s transform one night of discomfort into a future filled with hope.
