☎️ Latinx and Hispanic identifying visual artists in the Bloomington, IN area: submit your art to Repost: Hispanic Heritage Month Exhibition by August 23, 2024! How does your online presence amplify, obscure, distort, or reflect your real life self? What hardware and software do you open, use, and manipulate every day? Does digital technology influence your emotions, whether it expedites a process or slows it down? Have you ever met the people you interact with online in real-life? How does online culture trickle into your present interactions? I intend to pose the above questions to local Latinx and Hispanic identifying artists and ask them to represent their thoughts in a variety of media, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, jewelry, or film to culminate in a pop-up exhibition, Repost, to open at the 505 Theater at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts. Their works should incorporate some aspect of online digital culture, hardware, or software. Please note that 2D and 3D pieces are preferred. Repost is curated by Claudia González Díaz and Daniela Panigada Cook. 📲 Please reach out to me with any questions.

What to do when you sell a work of art online? If it was posted on a gallery page of art for sale, take it down and replace it with something new. A changing selection not only shows you're selling, but also makes sure everything is always for sale on the page. If you posted it for sale on social media and it sells, edit the post to reflect that. If it's part of a group or series that's best presented together, then it's good to keep it that way and not post individual pieces for sale elsewhere.

The National Gallery of Art (NGA) has collaborated with digital artist Zakirzyanov to create animated videos of famous paintings to promote the exhibition "Paris 1874: The Impressionist Moment." Two videos, featuring Pierre-Auguste Renoir's "Pont Neuf, Paris" (1872) and Édouard Manet's "The Railway" (1873), have garnered significant engagement on social media, with 4.9 million organic views and 250,000 engagements, attracting over 20,000 new followers on Instagram. The videos aim to make fine art more accessible and connect with a broader audience. The NGA's content strategy includes working with content creators to relay art history in innovative ways. This approach has been recognized with awards, including a Webby Award for excellence on the internet. The initiative reflects the museum's goal to engage with people who may not have previously interacted with fine art, using social media platforms to bridge the gap between art history and contemporary digital media. The NGA plans to continue collaborations with Zakirzyanov and other creators in the coming months.
