For today's post, I wanted to share another hallway design. This hallway is different than any other hallway I've designed before. This will be a sensory experience where visitors will be able to "Choose Their Own Adventure" on how they want to take in this passageway. The main focal points will be the walls and flooring. The walls will be studded with gems like amethyst, blue lace agate, and sodalite which are known to create a calming energy. People can touch them to soak their calming energy as they journey from the busy "Elemental Serenity Safari" to the serene atmosphere of May's "SereniSpace Suite." The flooring will be a whole different ball game. There are two types of flooring. One floor will be a regular standard flooring where you can get up close with the gems. However, if a visitor feels daring, there is an option where visitors can walk on grass, sand, or moss (or all three surfaces) and ground themselves while taking in the energy. There is still more work to this passageway. Share your thoughts in the comments section below. #ImmersiveDesign #EventProfs #ExhibitDesign #MeetingProfs #ExperientialDesign #SpatialDesign #Design #Experience

I’ve been seeing VCT show up in some incredible spaces lately, and Oxana’s post about this ice cream shop in Delray Beach, FL caught my attention. It’s such a great example of how durability and versatility can work together to create a space that’s both functional and visually striking. This is why VCT is such a standout choice for Main Street businesses like coffee shops and ice cream parlors. It’s: • Tough enough to handle high traffic. • Flexible enough to let designers create bold, eye-catching patterns. • And most importantly, it’s a flooring solution that lasts for years. As someone who’s passionate about VCT, it’s exciting to see products like this making such an impact. #VCT #CommercialFlooring #DesignThatLasts #MainStreetSpaces
An inspiring “case study” from a recent design trip: a delightful find in Delray Beach, FL—a vibrant ice cream shop featuring eye-catching Armstrong Flooring™ VCT flooring in bright, happy colors. Paired with a creative wall mural by a local artist, the space invites exploration and tempts you to indulge in more ice cream than planned. :-) This is the power of color in action, where every sense is engaged, creating an emotional connection to both the space and the products it offers. #VCT #vcttile #powerofcolor #casestudy #designinspiration #designadventure #EmotionalConnection #commercialflooring #designtravel #popsofcolors #colorfulflooring #design #designflooring #floor #floordesign #commercial #vctfloor #inspiration

GRILLIN' How often do we walk into buildings and see awful looking, bent, dusty, disgusting grilles in walls and ceilings? As lobby and hallway designers we feel that these seemingly small details are actually HUGELY impactful. They are often one of the most forgotten or overlooked items. So when designing lobbies and hallways, we take great care in reviewing what is existing, confirming the percentage of airflow required and selecting patterns that are easily custom perforated in creative or classic period designs best suited to your interiors. And in the scheme of things, these precious design elements are relatively inexpensive to their overall longevity and impact.

Windows are often overlooked when it comes to room design, but they can actually play a significant role in tying a space together. The style and placement of windows can greatly impact the overall aesthetic of a room, as well as the amount of natural light that enters the space. Choosing the right window finishes and hardware can further enhance the design and functionality of a room. Don't underestimate the power of what @kolbewindows can do in bringing a room together! #kolbewindows #windowinspo #windowsanddoors

By mixing siding textures and designs, you can create a home exterior that stands out in your neighborhood while complementing your architectural preferences. Shakes: These siding panels feature a rustic, textured appearance that adds depth and character to any facade. Shakes are available in various sizes and can be installed in a staggered or uniform pattern, allowing for customization to suit your taste. Board and Batten: This siding style pairs vertical boards (boards) with narrow strips (battens) that cover the joints between the boards. Board and batten siding lends a charming, traditional look to homes and provides visual interest with its vertical lines. Combining these siding styles allows you to achieve a unique and personalized exterior. For example, you might opt for shakes on the upper level of your home to add texture and visual intrigue, while using board and batten siding on the lower level for a more structured appearance. Mindful attention to design details matter. When undergoing a project, it's often the seemingly insignificant details that have the ability to impact your daily quality of life. Having a clever spot designated for your products instead of cluttering your tub dec can make a huge difference in your space. Although these little nuances certainly cost more than a simple flat wall of tile, they’re impossible to add later without a massive reno. That's why, these are the areas to splurge on when building or renovating. My advice? Splurge on the things that really matter. Cry once at the start and be happy with the results forever. Upgrading your light fixtures and furniture can always be done later, but going the extra mile on the areas that are impossible to easily modify is the key. Remember, it's the small details that make the biggest difference. So, if you want to create a luxurious and timeless space, invest in quality materials such as #marble, and don't forget to prioritize the design details that matter. #interiordesign #luxurydesign #newconstruction

At Gayler Design Build, we love finding ways to maximize both form and function in every project. One of our favorite design touches? Integrating the countertop right into the window frame ✨ In this recent San Ramon remodel, we eliminated the need for a traditional window sill, allowing us to install a larger window that floods the room with natural light 🌞 Not only does this give the space a sleek, modern look, but it also provides more usable surface area. Win-win 🙌 It's the little details like this that make a big difference in creating a truly custom home. What do you think—could you see this in your next remodel? #designinnovation #customremodel #contracostacounty
