The Cyber and Fraud Centre - Scotland's Jude McCorry recently featured in a SC Magazine article looking at diversity in cybersecurity. "The cybersecurity industry is still struggling with a lack of diversity, despite the benefits the area brings. According to the latest ISC2 figures, women make up just 24% of the global workforce, while ethnic minorities and neurodiverse individuals are also underrepresented in the sector." So, what needs to be done to change this? Read more here - https://lnkd.in/e2B3RX5Z

I have written an Industry Insight article in the latest Women in Security Magazine on how we can advance the cyber security sector through workforce diversity. It's full of practical actions, relevant data, and addresses some of the recommendations from the 2023 AWSN - Australian Women in Security Network and RMIT University 'Gender Dimensions of the Australian Cyber Security Sector Report'. It references my recent white paper on the topic: https://lnkd.in/gGTAfQjg You can access the article (p54-57) here https://lnkd.in/g2qYbSU9 I would love you to read the article and consider the perspectives I have shared in the context of your cyber security organisation. Please reach out if you have any thoughts or questions - I would love to start a conversation with you on this topic! Many thanks to Source2Create and Abigail Swabey for your ongoing advocacy and practical support for women in the security sector! The visibility the magazine provides women across the security sector is a key contributor to access to role models, career development and progression, and normalising the success of women in the industry. #womeninsecurity #womenincyber #cybersecurity #diveristy #diversityandinclusion

Did you know that in the field of cybersecurity, women make up less than 25% of the seats at the table? On top of that, men are 4x more likely to be in an executive position — and 9x more likely to hold management roles. RBC recognizes the gender gap in cyber and has taken action. Thanks to their support, our CLIC training and dual-certification program offers a limited number of $5,000 scholarships to women enrolled in the CLIC program. Together with RBC, we are taking the lead to make space for women in cyber. Discover more about CLIC: https://lnkd.in/gGzE6vVz — the deadline to apply for the next cohort is Friday, August 23. #cybersecurityforall #gendergap

🎫 REGISTER FREE below to our upcoming Public Sector Cyber Security Conference & hear Isabel Scavetta speak about Supporting Women in Cyber. 🔎 Women, who make up nearly half of the global population, are vastly underrepresented in cybersecurity, making up only 24% in 2023. Addressing this imbalance is not only a matter of fairness but also a strategic necessity to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in this critical field. https://lnkd.in/eCGbbnfN

Calling ALL Ladies!!! Historically, women have been problem solvers and innovators, contributing significantly to society. In today's world, where cyber threats are evolving at an unprecedented pace, it’s clear that we cannot afford to exclude women from the cyber security equation. New research from The Female Quotient and Deloitte found that 50% of young women interested in cyber security believe they lack sufficient knowledge about the field. This misconception is a barrier that must be dismantled. #cybersecurity #womenintech

Cybersecurity is now the fastest-growing IT occupation in the UK with a 128% increase in roles over the past few years, and yet the number of women in cybersecurity roles has fallen from 23.8% to 17.5%, according to a new report from Socura. It's a worrying trend, and there needs to be questions why cybersecurity, and technology in general, seems to have such a gender gap, and why more initiatives such as NCSC's Cyber First Girls competition and even Reed's own Women in Technology programme are needed. If you want to find out more about Reed's Women in Technology mentoring scheme then do reach out, always happy to discuss. #cybersecurity #womenintechnology #womenincyber
