Right now dozens of hackers are targeting your employees, hoping one of them will take the bait and open the poisoned attachment. 👉 Remember: Phishing emails are designed to make it look like someone you know, so it’s important that your employees know how to spot a potentially dangerous email. Here are 4 indicators that there’s something not quite right… 1. Vague subject lines or odd characters, spacing, or periods 2. Improper use of grammar (or symbols that don’t belong) 3. Request an “urgent” action, such as updating information without providing clear details 4. No way to unsubscribe Tag your employees so they can be familiar with this too! If you get phished, you’ll be glad you did!

Free Consultant Advice: If your IT support is so unusable that your staff sends your internal Phishing test to their NON-EMPLOYEE contacts (to ask "is this legit?") ... you're probably spending money in the wrong place.

We all have the same impulse when we call the helpdesk -- we absolutely do not want to tell them what we did. It is a lot like telling the dentist that we floss twice a day and the doctor that we absolutely never have more than one glass of wine during the week. Your IT folks will find out that you clicked an email you shouldn't have. You won't be the first one -- maybe not even this week. If you've done your homework and hired the right people they will have systems in place to protect you from your clicking impulse. Giving them all the information quickly will help them figure out what the damage, if any, is faster. Then go do your phishing and security homework. Because you should not have clicked that. #ITmanagement #smallbusiness #everettwa

Did you know that 48% of malicious email attachments are office files? (Symantec) This statistic highlights the importance of exercising caution when opening attachments, even those that appear to be from trusted sources. Attackers often embed malicious code in seemingly harmless office files, such as Word documents or Excel spreadsheets, to gain access to systems and steal sensitive data. Always scan attachments for malware before opening them and be wary of unexpected or unsolicited files. Have a great day, and stay secure!

PSA: If you keep seeing this 👇 email from LinkedIn in your inbox, and don't have 2FA on, be sure to turn on 'two-step verification' under 'Sign-in & security,' so people can't easily break into your account. (I didn't realize I didn't have 2FA on, and the email does not point it out.)

Information: LinkedIn Account Hacked Hello Connections, Today morning, I was shocked to see that my LinkedIn account was hacked & all my details were modified. Then, I changed my password & logged out my account from all the devices. Later, I came to know that I didn't enable the 2-Step verification. So, pls enable it to safeguard your account from hackers. Also, add Gmail Account/Mobile number for resetting the passwords by getting an OTP. I welcome if anyone wants to share their experience about account hacked/recovered as an awareness to all. Attaching the Screenshot as a proof my account hacked. #LinkedIn #Account #Safety #Recover #Password #Security
