Three funding rounds that you need to know about 💰 We recently launched a series where we highlight the latest funding rounds of climate tech companies we value and consider integral to our community. Let's delve into the ones that caught our eye over the last couple of weeks… 🧵Our friends at Rodinia Generation have secured €3 million in funding bringing them a step closer to achieving their mission of transforming clothing production and combatting industry overproduction. The company uses a scalable micro-factory concept with advanced technology to manufacture clothing at speed and with a reduced carbon footprint of 40%. Congratulations Trine Y., we look forward to seeing what's next! 💧 The Finnish wastewater treatment company, NPHarvest, has raised €2.2 million to help scale its nutrient recycling technology. The investment will go toward continued product development on its Nutrient Catcher solution, with lowering production costs as a key aim so that the catcher can be rolled out commercially. ♻️ What if AI could be used to tackle the global waste problem? London-based Sorted has done just that with their AI-powered solution for sorting recyclable materials on recycling lines. They have raised £1.65 million which will accelerate its go-to-market strategy. Congrats to all of these promising startups! #FundingRounds #StartupCommunity #Innovation #Entrepreneurship

French clean tech startup Calyxia nets $35M to tackle microplastics pollution. French clean tech startup Calyxia has profitability within sight. The company just raised a $35 million Series B round that will help it further ramp up industrial production of its sustainable alternatives to microparticles and microcapsules, setting it on the path to net profitability by 2026. But co-founder and CEO Jamie Walters says the B Corp is just getting started. The “starter” problem Calyxia is tackling is staggering at global scale: Microplastics are polluting everything around the world, from soils, rivers and beaches to the icy waters of the Arctic — they’re even getting inside our own bodies and brains. Beyond that, the traditional production methods employed by the materials and chemical industries can cause a range of environmental issues. It’s imperative to green up industrial manufacturing processes if we’re to safeguard the environment for future generations and reduce the energy used to make stuff. Walters said Calyxia’s mission for the next five to 10 years is to become the global leader in the microparticles and microcapsules categories. After that, he wants the company’s technologies to be transforming the industrial chemical industry more broadly. https://lnkd.in/gD8p6mfF #Calyxia #microplastics #environment
