I was very happy to take down all the Christmas decorations straight after Christmas this year but have to admit I’m feeling a bit sad to see this last one come down tonight. Decorating our Christmas tree has always been a joint effort. Since he was born Henry has put the fairy on the top and we’ve had friends come and join us to decorate it too. This year it was just us and after an initial need to control how the beads were put on I could see it disheartened Henry and I stopped and let it go. I gave him free reign and the the tree was all the more beautiful for it. Letting go of control and trusting in yourself, the universe and others doesn’t come naturally or easy for a lot of people. I can do it now because of the inner work I did to release the need to control and to allow and feel safe in that trust. It’s beautiful work and impacts all relationship dynamics you have in your life. Letting go of control doesn’t mean you let go of boundaries or standards. On the contrary, it means you are more able to uphold them with, confidence and ease. Let go of control, learn to trust and watch the world open up to you with wonderful opportunities and beautiful moments.
