Our Partner Gauhar Mirza along with Principal Associate Hiral Gupta kickstarted a two-day Training-cum-workshop on Arbitration organised by NHPC Limited, a Government of India enterprise , and conducted an important expert session on the practical challenges in arbitration faced by Public Sector Undertakings. Team shared their own practical experiences and also discussed the latest favourable awards and judgments in the field of construction arbitration (including that for NHPC Ltd.) The session was attended and well received by members of NHPC's management, legal officers, and key stakeholders. It focused on crucial topics, including the Vivad se Vishwas scheme, the Finance Ministry’s new notification on arbitration guidelines for domestic public procurement contracts, multiple arbitration references, price variation clauses, the new Mediation Act and other practical issues encountered by PSUs in arbitration. Devarshi Mohan (Associate) also accompanied the team for the session. Our Ahmedabad office hosted a thought leadership session on “Financing Structures in Real Estate” on October 17th. We advised Advent International (“Advent”) on its investment of ~INR 2,475 crore in Apollo Healthco Limited (“AHL”) (a material subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited (“AHEL”)) which, inter alia, owns and operates Apollo 24|7, an omnichannel healthcare platform allowing patients access to a range of medical and ancillary support services across various healthcare products. The transaction also includes an investment by AHL in Keimed Private Limited (“Keimed”), and Keimed’s subsequent amalgamation into AHL. Keimed is engaged, inter alia, in the wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. CAM played a vital role by providing strategic guidance to Advent across all phases of the transaction, from initial drafting and negotiation of transaction documents, to overseeing regulatory compliance, obtaining anti-trust approval and addressing deal-specific issues. The General Corporate team of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised on the matter. Cyril Shroff provided strategic guidance to Advent. Mizuho Leasing Company, Limited had acquired a controlling stake in Rent Alpha Private Limited last year, and has now made a follow-on acquisition. Rent Alpha Private Limited is the holding company of a non-banking financial company, Capsave Finance Private Limited.
