From 22-24 September we will be on stand in Edinburgh for the International Society of Diseases of the Esophagus 20th World Congress! 🌎 Whether for GERD, Barrett’s, EoE or cancers, we look forward to showing the international visitors the applications of capsule sponge testing. Our very own Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald will be co-chairing a range of talks, including a segment on capsule sponge delivered by Massimiliano di Pietro. Congratulations to Joseph DeRisi, Ph.D. and Aaron Bodansky, MD for the publication of their research in Nature! Our illustration visualizes an extremely detailed example of molecular mimicry occurring within children with multi system inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C), an autoimmune-mediated illness in patients following COVID-19 infection. Our visuals capture the essence of DeRisi and Bodansky’s findings, illustrating the cross reactive CD8 T cells that mediate coronavirus infection then go on to bind a child's native SNX8, a globular protein (nearly identical to the SARS-Cov-2 nucleocapsid protein) implicated with MIS-C patients. #CZBiohubSF Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network Paper: https://lnkd.in/g5GUddBX CZBioHub Article: https://lnkd.in/g2n67jvj

Senior General Manager Sales Marketing at VARENYAM HEALTHCARE PRIVATE LIMITED | Driving Sales Growth with Leadership
There is no R&D for New Antibiotics by any company and there are lot's of R& D for Anticancer drugs or any other drugs which can give the company revenue back. For Antibiotics, the saying goes " A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY TAKES 20 YEARS TO R& D OR SYNTHESIZE A NEW MOLECULE, BUT THE BACTERIA TAKES 20 SECONDS TO FIND A RESISTANCE ". So the question is which company will take the risk?
At Roche, we are leveraging our expertise in antibiotics and diagnostics to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which could claim 10 million lives a year by 2050. Earlier this week, at the 2024 World Health Summit, together with the Global AMR R&D Hub in Berlin, we promoted the Innovation Dialogue on AMR, highlighting the critical need for cross-sector collaboration and global responsibility. The threat is urgent: cancer patients are particularly vulnerable to infections, with low- and middle-income countries bearing the heaviest burden. Learn more about our efforts to combat #AMR ⬇️

"🔍 Validating Artificial Intelligence (AI) digital diagnostics in Infectious Disease Diagnostics 🧬 The rise of AI-based digital diagnostics is capturing significant attention. Have you ever pondered how these methods compare to DNA-based amplification-detection (real-time PCR), antigen-based diagnostics (UCP-LF CAA), and conventional microscopy in diagnosing infectious diseases, particularly in field settings on banked and fresh samples? Curious to delve deeper? Click the link to read more about our recent publication. Next week, September 16-22, is the World Mitochondrial Disease Week and we are calling for awareness of mitochondrial diseases. One of the key events is Light Up for Mito on September 21, where buildings around the world will light up green to support those affected by mitochondrial diseases. 🌍💚 🔬 We at baseclick are proud to be part of the MITGEST_EU consortium, an EU-funded project that actively contributes to mitochondrial research and develops innovative methods for the targeted treatment of mitochondrial diseases. 💡 In our project, we are using our technology to explore innovative ways to deliver RNA and oligonucleotides directly into the mitochondrial matrix. By combining this with mitochondria-targeting peptides and cellular delivery strategies, we aim to develop new approaches for effective mitochondrial therapies. Let's work together to elucidate these important advances while supporting global efforts to raise awareness! 💚 #WorldMitoWeek2024 #IlluminateTomorrow #MitochondrialDisease #LightUpForMito #MITGEST_EU #baseclick #thelilyfoundation #Research #CellTrageting #CellSpecificDelivery

Using HiFi sequencing, researchers can now uncover new structural variants and gain deeper insights into rare disease like never before. However, many families, like Laura and Dave, are still searching for answers. Events like the Wilhelm Foundation’s 'Undiagnosed Hackathon', in collaboration with Radboudumc, highlight the importance of working together to drive new discoveries and help provide critical insights for families like Laura and Dave's.
