Hi there! I'm a designer who's been working on Steam for the past 18 years. I also frequently give talks and host roundtable discussions to help developers get the most out of releasing on Steam.
Hey devs: If you have a question about Steam Next Fest, changes are good that we answered it in last week's virtual Q&A session. Here is the recording: https://lnkd.in/gVUvZpxP

Webby Award Winning Audio Editor, CAVS President Award Winner, Technical Specialist. Audio Visual Integrator, Writer, Educator
Yes, yes, and yes, again and again -Michael Perez! The pursuit of audiophilia is something I have long struggled with. As a trained audio engineer who designed and installed custom home theaters and media rooms, your muted enthusiasm and concerns are right on point. I adamantly (to the point of obsession) insist on being surrounded by quality sound, and none of us should have to settle for lousy file formats or subpar reproduction. Yet the audiophile community continues to ostracize anyone who first enters or strays from the cannon. There is an oft-told joke about modern vinyl fans: What attracts them to the format is its expense and difficulty in making it work right. Comedic simplifications aside, there is no better example of the overwrought and avarice of so-called audiophiles than the now-defunct Rocky Mountain Audio Show. This yearly gathering of self-important audio mystics chanting over meteorite-sourced metal tweeters and rare wood cabinets smoothed by exotic virgins from lost islands has killed the better audio aspirations of the masses. While my technical knowledge and skill sets allow me the freedom to make the most of any setup, I have found Andrew Robinson's (former Home Stereo Review editor) reviews and insights just the right mix. In my humble opinion, Andrew has the right blend of lofty audio aspirations and real-world considerations. I applaud your declaration and look forward to hearing more about what discoveries you make and how you balance the need for quality without the anxiety and drive to continually make 'just one more tweak.'

Human Dignity-Centered Historian Preserving Archival Records as Primary Sources for Research & Education
Museums, Teachers, and PLU's... Oh My! As a Teacher Advisory Council (TAC) member at Emory University 's Carlos Museum, I "get to" help influence how museums help shape education for K12 scholars, by engaging their teachers. This Saturday, my collegues and I discussed ways to get more educators to the Teacher Classes and Professional Learning Unit experiences offered by the Carlos Museum. Museums often address educational standards and curriculum through dynamic experiences that engage the senses with primary sources! Basically, museums are conduits for real-life, experiencial education that impact multiple intelligences. Tag an educator who could use a trip to the museum!
