A timely view! Our patients are becoming increasingly more conplex and co-morbid- a make believe clinical trial participant cannot answer difficult questions pertaining to such ambiguities. Not only that, pharmaceutical sponsored trials while shape evidence, can also make the waters mirky. Give me evidence based medicine for a real life patient anytime! #ebm #clinical trials # clinical practice

In 2012, the World Health Assembly established the Member State Mechanism (MSM), to address the issue of tackling Substandard and Falsified Medical Products (SMFP) in a transparent and inclusive way, from a public health perspective and expressly excluding considerations of intellectual property rights. On 29 May 2017, the World Health Assembly agreed to have “Substandard and Falsified (SF) medical products” as the term to be used in the name of the Member State mechanism and in all future documentation on the subject of medical products of this type. For more information, please see Resolution 65.19. The Annex to WHA65.19 contains the goal, objectives, and terms of reference. The above reference is very key to the interpretations that may follow any actions or activities related therein.

Interesting news about the status of clinical guidelines in Kazakhstan Starting June 20, clinical guidelines in Kazakhstan will officially become voluntary. An amendment to the Health Code states: "Medical workers are guided by clinical guidelines when choosing the most effective methods of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, which are voluntary". The global trend is towards personalized medicine, as treating every patient with the same template is not ideal. I hope these new amendments will help improve care for every patient. Link to the law in the comment below.
