The data is clear: Businesses are turning to quantum to gain competitive advantage today. Bob Sorensen, Senior Vice President of Research at Hyperion Research was on stage at #Qubits24 to share the latest industry insights on how quantum computing is being explored by commercial end users based on a recent survey of approximately 300 respondent organizations spanning the US, Germany, France, UK, Italy, and Spain. Here were some of the highlights from the results: ✅ Organizations expect up to 20x ROI from quantum optimization investments. ✅50% more companies plan to put quantum into production than reported two years ago. ✅Finance-oriented optimization, supply-chain management and manufacturing were the leading candidates for quantum computing applications. ✅Respondents cited a broad range of business-related incentives for quantum computing adoption including increased efficiencies and revenues. These results are evidence of the increasing relevance and adoption of quantum computing across industries. Our team thoroughly enjoyed the recent #Q2bParisConference. It was great to catch up with friends and colleagues, make new connections, and see first-hand the progress being made across the quantum technologies industry. Key highlights include: 🚀 Many quantum computing companies are now fully or heavily focused on quantum error correction. Detailed hardware roadmaps for #QEC are growing in number, while key elements of the software stack are being developed. Things are moving quickly, and organisations are beginning to prepare for the availability of tens of logical qubits within the next 3 years. 🤝 Government support for quantum computing remains strong in Europe, particularly in France and the UK, with error correction at the heart of their strategies. 💪 A major challenge in the next few years will be to connect progress in #QEC at the hardware layer and low levels of the software stack with the algorithm and use-case developer layers. Thanks to Jean-Francois Bobier for hosting a panel session on QEC, in which our CTO Ewan Munro participated, together with Andre Carvalho James Cruise, and Pierre-Emmanuel Emeriau #Q2BParis #QuantumComputing #QuantumTechnology #Innovation #QEC #

When it comes to quantum optimization for complex problem solving, what tools should organizations consider? Experience the newest hybrid #quantum nonlinear solver in action through this live demo from #Qubits24, presented by Alexander Condello, senior director of algorithms, performance, and tools at D-Wave. In this production scheduling example, Alex shows how the new solver allows for more compact representation of real-world problem scenarios and introduces new variable types, expanding the possibilities of what we can solve. He compares the performance between a classical solver and D-Wave's new hybrid quantum solver, demonstrating how the new solver provides a much better-quality solution for optimization problems. When quantum computing in data centres was still an untested concept, we took a bold step forward. Since 2020, our team has been at the forefront of building quantum systems for data centres, starting with hosting Rigetti's 32-qubit quantum computer. In the last 18 months, we are proud to have installed dilution refrigerators in three live data centres globally, including the world's first integration in a colocation data centre. This journey has been filled with valuable lessons and insights, which we share in our latest blog. We delve into the challenges of quantum-data centre integration and how we have adapted our instruments to achieve high availability, reliability, and fault tolerance necessary for a data centre environment. As the number of quantum computers in data centres continues to grow steadily in the coming years, we're well-prepared to lead the charge. Collaborations with our partners such as Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) have not only given us this advantage but have revolutionised how we approach quantum computing infrastructure.
