The number of industry examples demonstrating annealing quantum computing’s impact on optimization is growing. Hyperion Research and D-Wave commissioned a study earlier this year on the increasing exploration and adoption of quantum-based optimization solutions, which found: • Over 60% of surveyed organizations said that quantum-based optimization is very important. • 55% of organizations highlighted increase in revenue as the top business driver for quantum computing-based optimization. • 50% of organizations highlighted realizing cost-saving as the top business driver for quantum computing-based optimization. • 20X ROI is expected by respondents who have made long-term commitments to QC-based optimization based on a combination of greater operational efficiencies, increased revenue, increased competitive advantage, and realized cost savings The June 2024 findings are based on a survey of over 300 organizations across a range of key verticals that sought to understand how and why business leaders are taking advantage of annealing quantum technology today. "Essential News from Various Newspapers" AI requires Quanta to spend another 2.5 billion to build power grid Quanta plans to invest an additional US$79.75 million in fuel cell microgrid systems via its U.S. subsidiary QMN, following a prior US$56 million investment in April. The company is responding to strong demand for AI server orders, which requires upgrades to high-end servers and the power grid for its new California factory. The Fremont factory serves as Quanta's primary U.S. server assembly site. Significant past investments include US$135 million announced in August and US$79.6 million for three local contracts. Quanta's strategy focuses on expanding and upgrading equipment to meet rising AI server demand, a major growth area for the company. AI servers are projected to constitute 50% of Quanta's total server revenue this year, a goal the company has already surpassed. Improved upstream GPU supply is expected to further enhance demand. Quanta forecasts full-year capital expenditure of 12 billion yuan, with 3.5 billion yuan allocated in the second quarter alone. In August, Quanta reported record revenue of NT$145.177 billion, reflecting significant month-over-month and year-over-year growth, with further supply chain improvements anticipated for the latter half of the year. #AI #Taiwan https://lnkd.in/g42f5arN

Today we’re announcing results of an important study done by D-Wave in conjunction with Hyperion Research about the growing use of quantum optimization among business users. More than 60% of the approximately 300 enterprise quantum computing users surveyed view quantum computing (QC)-based optimization as very important to improving the performance of their key business processes. Here’s a rundown of the survey’s key findings: ✅Significant ROI Expected From Quantum Optimization Most survey respondents expect to invest $3 to $6 million in quantum optimization initiatives — with anticipated estimated benefits of $60 to $65 million for each respondent’s company — resulting in an impressive, expected ROI of 10 to 20 times the initial investment. ✅Accelerating Production-Level Quantum Applications More than 20% of survey respondents are either currently using or planning to put quantum technology into production within the next 12 to 18 months, a 50% increase over Hyperion Research’s 2022 report. ✅Top Three benefits of Quantum Optimization Enhancing business process efficiencies was named as the top benefit of quantum optimization by almost a quarter of respondents (24%), followed by increasing revenues (20%), and driving innovation (14%). ✅Top Three Use Cases for Quantum Optimization Finance-oriented areas (17%) Supply-chain management (16%) Manufacturing (14%) Read our news announcement: https://lnkd.in/gbUrv8sD
