It’s been a busy one here at Seventh Wave® - THE Management & Leadership Training Company and we have more to go …. 🤩 Monday meetings with new customers, conversations with talented trainers who are interested in working with us and planning our marketing strategies 🤝 Tuesday saw 6 more meetings sharing what we do across the UK while we started our development program with Halian in Berlin, Germany facilitated by the wonderful Marina Ibrahim 🥳 Here is another example of how we can support any business in any industry in any country! ☺️ There were also 4 existing programs continuing in Leeds, London, Sheffield & Basingstoke where we continued our program with ELIS which I co facilitate with the superb Ron W.. 17 senior leaders in their business are really starting to demonstrate the application and impact of their journey as we completed their 4th workshop 👏🏼 Yesterday more workshops, one to one coaching sessions both face to face and virtual with our customers across the globe 🌍 I met up with Nick Booth and Jancis Dunn ✨ Leadership and Talent Development to plan some exciting things for the rest of this year and focus on how we can help and support more people … this is always our ‘Why’ 🥰 Today the meetings continue as Steve Kelly and I plan to discuss our growth strategy and ongoing fine tuning of our existing customers relationship and tactics around growing more 🤘🏼 Then off to New York next week to continue our program with LHi Group 🇺🇸 #sweetsweetbeats

I was 18 when I was given my first team to manage. I had been working at the company for 2 years while I was in high school and started full-time when I finished and they gave me a team leader position... little did they know I was planning to go travelling in 6 months time. And, although my plan was to save as much money as possible, I also wanted to make the most of the experience. So, I decided to make that 6 months a steep learning curve and do as much as I could for my new team before I left. I learned SO many lessons about managing that I have taken throughout my career... 1) When you get promoted you can't expect everyone in your team to be mini you's - everyone is unique. Yes, 18 year old me thought this would be the case! 2) Your manager will expect you to still be as good at your job as you were before while having all these other people to look after. Set expectations with them. 3) You will make mistakes. And this is ok. You just need to learn from them. 4) Your team are no longer just your friends, you have to manage them. You have to be able to separate the two and if you can't it will make it harder. 5) Seeing someone achieve something with your mentorship is magical! Yes, the last one is a lesson! Ps. This is a photo of me once I went traveling on my favourite day of my gap year!
