Frontier Airlines I recently travelled with my family from Miami to Punta Cana for my daughter’s wedding. My eldest grandson had a seat, seatbelt and life preserver under his seat; my youngest one (1.5 years’old), had his mother’s lap, no extended seatbelt and no life preserver. This flight is over water! We asked the Flight Attendant (FA) and Cabin Manager for a life preserver (LP). They said in an emergency, the FA would get a LP for my grandson. I explained as patiently as possible the following: - The LPs we’re located under seat 44 at the rear of the aircraft (could we get one and return it at the end of the flight - no) - In a catastrophic emergency ( think Capt. Sully Sullenberger US Air 1549), the FAs would probably not be able to get the LP due to Captain’s instructions to ‘buckle up and get ready to brace). - The Cabin Manager did not comprehend this potential scenario and offered us to be removed from the flight and ask a ground assistant; I suspect knowing it would placate us to stop protesting or find another airline. I cannot tell you how, as a former Aircraft Captain in the military myself, how disappointed I was. I urge Frontier Airlines to review this scenario to improve future safety. It’s a great investment because if the death of an infant came to fruition because of negligence it would cost the airline millions of dollars. ‘Prepare for the worst; hope for best’. 🚨 As an Airlines, Airports, and Aviation Management student, I’ve always emphasized the importance of professionalism and care in every aspect of our industry. Today, I want to share a concerning video from London Gatwick In this footage, we see a baggage handler from Menzies Aviation handling luggage with a complete lack of care, throwing suitcases into the trolley with full force. This reckless behavior has resulted in multiple damaged suitcases. We all know that baggage handlers work incredibly hard and their efforts in lifting and transporting heavy luggage are deeply appreciated. However, actions like this undermine their valuable work and reflect poorly on Menzies Aviation and the wider aviation community. 🤔 It’s also troubling that his colleagues did not intervene to correct this behavior. As I'm getting ready to travel a lot over the next five months, it occurs to me... ...When you fly somewhere, aren't you glad the pilots have a process? And it isn't just the pilots.
