Appreciating the Unsung Heroes: Truck Drivers Keep the World Moving In a world where convenience is king, it’s easy to overlook the people who make it all possible: truck drivers. These unsung heroes keep the global supply chain running, ensuring that goods—everything from groceries to critical medical supplies—reach their destination on time. However, their journey is often filled with sacrifices that many of us may never see. Truck drivers spend long hours away from their families, missing important milestones and precious moments. They endure long stretches of solitude and face difficult conditions, such as staying in often overcrowded and under-equipped truck parking lots. On the road, they also encounter risky situations caused by impatient or reckless passenger car drivers. 🏆Recognizing and appreciating the vital role truck drivers play is crucial. Thank you John O'Leary and Daimler Truck North America for raising awareness. Next time you see a truck driver, remember that they are not just delivering goods—they are making personal sacrifices to keep our daily lives running smoothly. Let’s all take a moment to show appreciation and respect for the people behind the wheel, who are truly driving our world forward.

#PosterPinUps? I was always told you should grab every opportunity because Nothing Ventured = Nothing Gained… This was one of those opportunities to grab a great photo - in a not so great setting, but sometimes it’s just sits perfectly. Here we were loaded with a colleague at the same place in Birmingham. One of the great things about DFDS Logistics Special Cargo is the camaraderie between drivers. We look out for one another, we help each other with what can often be difficult and strenuous loads - especially when you can’t get on the trailer bed to cover the load with heavy tarpaulins and chain loads down, so a buddy to help is worth his weight in gold, and even more so in the kind of heat we’ve had this week. As a tramper, I’d say I prefer summer to winter. Short days don’t agree with me and I love being outside. When the sun shines it just makes everything better somehow, except when you’re wringing wet through with sweat, dusty and dirty and limited places to freshen up before settling down for the night - and that’s before we get on about sleeping conditions in trucks without night coolers (I’ve got one I might add, but it can’t be on all night as the battery drains too quickly and the truck goes into battery saver mode 😂) essentially, a truck cab is like being in a tin can inside an oven!! Whilst the air con does a job to keep it cool while the engine is running, as soon as it stops, the heat of the truck itself, plus that from the engine that’s been working hard all day, radiates inside again. Honestly, I’ve had cooler saunas 😂. That said, we are lucky these days, 30/40 years ago, air con in trucks wasn’t even a thing really. The Continental truckers of days gone by were a different breed, but then again, the industry was totally different too, in every way. #Teamwork #Camaraderie #HelpingHands #Haulage #PhotoOpportunity #Trucking #Truckdrivers DFDS Logistics Special Cargo #TheExtraMile #ExceedingExpectations

At sunset, a different kind of journey begins for our brave truckers. 😱 The eerie silence of the night and the ever-changing weather, can create a chilling atmosphere on the open road. 😱 Reduced visibility, unexpected road hazards, and the constant battle against fatigue can turn a simple drive into a haunting experience. We salute our drivers who face these challenges head-on, so that essential goods reach their destinations safely. 💛 What are your tips for staying safe on the night roads? Managing a courier fleet in Yerevan is an art that I strive to master every day. Picture a complex symphony where each courier is a note, and I am the conductor aiming to create harmony out of chaos. It's not an easy task, especially when entrusted with a fleet operating at a mere 23.4% efficiency. But I don't shy away from challenges. I see this as an opportunity to turn our fleet into a benchmark for others to follow. Every day, we work tirelessly to increase efficiency and the quality of our service. We study data, analyze processes, and constantly seek new ways to optimize. As a conductor, I aim for each courier to play their part in this symphony with precision and enthusiasm. We build a team where each member understands their role and the value of their contribution. And perhaps most importantly, I believe in our success. Despite our initial efficiency, we see a path to growth and improvement. We strive to become better every day, and I'm confident that with our determination and pursuit of excellence, we can achieve great results. Thus, I see managing the courier fleet not only as a business task but also as an opportunity to transform our team into a true orchestra of successful deliveries, inspiring and impressing with our achievements. #Delivery_Yerevan

1moAwesome, John O'Leary! This reminds me of the trucker's lunches we organized once per month with Freightliner's product strategy team back in the day. It was about showing appreciation and also about listening to truckers' firsthand experiences with their rigs, lives on the road, and getting insights on how we could improve Freightliners to make them better tools and living environments for them. Great experience! Keep up the great work in supporting these dedicated professionals! #TruckDriverAppreciation #ListeningToTheFrontLine
