March 2020: Our team’s entire business model changed overnight. COVID-19 shut down the in-person meetings and site visits that our sales team depended on. We lost our primary way of connecting with clients, facing one of the most uncertain times we’d ever encountered. But instead of waiting for a solution, we took control. Our strategy was straightforward: we shifted from selling to listening. We stopped pushing services and focused on what our clients were going through, asking how we could support them. This didn’t just help us survive—it strengthened relationships and deepened trust. Here’s how we did it: 1️⃣ Pivoted to Listening: Every conversation started with, “What challenges are you facing?” This built genuine connections. 2️⃣ Used Downtime for Growth: We created a nationwide training program for 100 salespeople, investing in skill-building and readiness. 3️⃣ Set Up Consistent Check-Ins: Weekly meetings let us refine strategies, share insights, and motivate each other. 4️⃣ Mastered Digital Tools: Virtual meetings became our new standard, allowing us to stay connected and adaptable.
