!! Incoming College Graduates / Recent Graduates !!
For those of you who are undergrad students approaching graduation or recent graduates looking for a job next fall, Teach For America could be a great option for you.
Having graduated in May of 2023, I joined the the 2023 Corps in Phoenix, AZ, and it has been an amazing opportunity thus far. Now, has it all been perfect? Absolutely not. Teaching is just as challenging, if not more, than professionals in the field make it out to be, and every day presents itself with hardships than can become overwhelming at times. That being said, however, this job also has presented me with some of the most rewarding, enjoyable work of my life. Working with students gives you the opportunity to impact people at such a crucial time in all aspects of their development, and teaching allows you to be a pillar in that development.
No job is perfect, but working in Teach For America has been an experience I wouldn’t change. The opportunities the organization provides are plentiful, and the experience is one you won’t forget throughout your professional career.
If you have any questions about my own experience in the corps, I’d be happy to chat with you, but general information on the website is also well-structured and available. Feel free to reach out!

(p.s., if education as a field is of interest to you, I would 100% suggest this route; however, one of the critiques of TFA is that it can attract people just desperate for a job, some of whom are not actually invested in building a productive, impactful classroom for students. I would strongly recommend avoiding TFA if teaching is of little to no interest to you, even if you need a job.)
