I have solved for the hiring problem in Property & Casualty insurance for over 25 years. From CSR back then to C-Suite now, and pretty much everything in between. Sure, the industry challenges and environment have changed during that time: the economy; the relationship between insurance and technology; the development of new products, new processes, new awareness, new investments, new initiatives. Insurance has come a long way since 1995. 𝒀𝒐𝒖'𝒗𝒆 come a long way since 1995. And so have I. But for both industries and people, the core remains the same. Executive search and recruitment in insurance is part detective work and part intuition, informed by listening and understanding, asking and iterating, and entrenched in industry knowledge. Good recruiting changes lives: the hiring manager, the team into which the person is hired, the individual who now has a new job. With great recruiting comes great responsibility: to manage the engagement effectively, efficiently, ethically, and with perseverance. At executive levels, great recruiting affects the stakeholders, stockholders, and the company itself. Excellent recruiting imbues the hiring process with grace, fluidity, understanding, and empathy. Excellence in executive search includes a macro-awareness of the insurance industry ecosystem and a micro-awareness of the client’s and the candidate’s needs, delivered with crystal clear communication throughout the relationship. Everyone wins when we are all solving the same problem together: bringing the right person to your team, your company, in an excellent process that builds a relationship of trust. 🌠Team building through hiring. 🌠 Maintaining peace and focus during uncertainty.

Commercial Insurance can be a somewhat "hidden gem" of an industry. So, why is it often overlooked? - It probably isn't the first industry you think of when somebody mentions sales - It is often looked at as a very traditional industry, thus people are led to believe there is no innovation - Often, people believe you need to be very highly educated to enter the industry _____________ Why can it be a "hidden gem" of an industry? - Build your own book of business, get paid accordingly - not chasing a new quota every quarter or 12 months - Long-term wealth building through residual earnings - Relatively low barrier to entry ____________ At USI Insurance Services, we're dedicated to investing early and often into our producers, which looks like: - Support from mentors, no strings attached - Support staff so you can focus on selling - Industry-leading technology platforms If you're selling in the property & casualty sector within commercial insurance, let's chat. Currently hiring in: 📍 Minneapolis, MN 📍 Los Angeles, CA 📍 San Diego, CA #USIRecruitment

I guess this is insurance week for my posts! We have moved through a number of years in the insurance industry with a heavily experienced workforce. Across the industry our most technically skilled are retiring, and talks of the skills gap abound. When I ask those who have not been attached to high insurance skills, “What is the most important skill set?” They quickly say “customer service.” Beneath that response - active listening, professionalism, and friendly. Now, customer service will almost hinge on - ultimately on accuracy. When I press those without core business experience, the technical skills rarely come up. Why? Well, they don’t know nor have observed the more complex skills at work. Those roles were full and we weren’t necessarily hiring for those. Now, we as an industry are. To hire and prepare a workforce for high tech skills, we need to recognize and dig into these. Being emotionally intelligent and poorly skilled is actually emotionally unintelligent. Customers don’t arrive for the friendship as a primary focus, they arrive to receive skilled help in a ln area that seems complex…insurance. This source does a nice job highlighting the technical skills needed in insurance.
