Maximizing Fun I know it may sound inappropriate to talk about FUN on a career based media platform like linkedin. I believe there is a direct link between career success, staying connnected, personal finance and FUN. This is my first post on maximizing fun and it can be seen on my blog and adventure website. Enjoy! Let’s talk about fun. Everyone likes fun, right? I have been thinking about fun for awhile. I am now 56 and have given this topic a lot of thought. I have been thinking about fun like any industrial engineer would. What is fun? Does it change? How do I measure it? I have been thinking about the distribution of fun over the years of my life and the lives of others that I have come into contact with. I have been thinking about all the factors that affect fun. Without having to present charts, I have come to the conclusion that the way to maximize fun is to: 1. Live a long healthy life. 2. Have a good amount of fun spread over that long healthy life 3. Have a vision of what fun is and its evolution as you progress 4. Have the means necessary to realize the fun vision. The biggest challenge about writing this is the whole concept of fun. Its meaning is different for different people. So I will try to focus on time…or time to do what you want to do. I guess many of us would spend that time having fun. Fun is generally not doing what someone else wants you to do and doing what you probably would be doing if you had your choice. So let’s focus on time. How do you get it? When you’re a child you get it for free. You are pretty much able to do whatever you want to do within your environment / surrounding. Teenagers, with their newfound freedom and mobility, enjoy more control over their time and activities, especially if they have financial independence. College is similar with maybe even more freedom and opportunity for fun. Once you are on your own and your parents are no longer supporting you, acquiring free time becomes more challenging, as you probably need to work to earn money. The traditional way to get money is to spend time at a job. If you get a traditional job, then you probably have to work 40 or more hours per week and go to a place to work. This leaves little time for fun. The weekends mostly. If you work hard and save money you can stop working and retire or work part time at some age in the future. The tension between saving for the future and experiencing fun in the present is a common challenge. The desire for immediate gratification can sometimes outweigh long-term goals. Instead of complaining about work later, let’s focus on building a life filled with meaningful experiences, both now and in the years to come, so you won’t have to bitch about working in a crappy job until you are 70. Or worse yet, you die before you get the chance to retire. To continue reading go to-> https://lnkd.in/e_Ujc5HF

Years ago I bought a bouncy ball, wrote all kinds of questions on it, and brought it to work. (Wanna play it again with me, across the screen?) Whenever I sensed my team needed a break I'd bring out the ball and we'd bounce it around to each other and answer the questions. It only took about 5 minutes, but I noticed... - Stress was lowered - We felt more connected - We all learned fun things about each other - Five minutes goes FAST! I'm going to list 3 of the questions, and you can choose one, posting your answer below: 1. What is the messiest area of your home? 2. What was your favorite class in high school? 3. Dance floor or homebody? And..... GO! 👇

Answer: C 👨🏫 Yes, a person can have multiple life insurance policies for several reasons: ✅ Coverage Needs: One policy may not offer enough coverage for their needs. ✅ Diverse Beneficiaries: Different policies can benefit various family members or organizations. ✅ Employer Benefits: Supplementing employer-provided coverage for better protection. ✅ Investment and Financial Planning: Using different policies for investment diversification. ✅ Term vs. Permanent Coverage: Combining term and permanent policies for flexibility. ✅ Health Changes: Securing additional coverage if health deteriorates after obtaining one policy. It's essential to evaluate needs, compare policies, and disclose existing coverage when applying for new policies. Please feel free to share this information if you find it helpful. We are deeply committed to sharing and educating others on topics related to life insurance.

Culture + Social Impact Communications Executive | Bridging the gap between brands + communities through communications, advocacy and social impact campaigns
(Self) Appreciation post: whew, Wintertime is tough. We are so conditioned to go, Go, GO – and I am incredibly proud of my diligence to sit in the slowness this past season. A few Winter highlights: 1. Becoming comfortable with the idea of moving slower to allow for new learnings and observations. 2. Building out a swaggy team + solid client roster @ Pea Nation! 3. Watching the brilliant film “Origin” twice in 48hrs (watching it on a flight hits very differently). Please go watch it if you have not already. 4. Taking on more speaking opportunities + embracing the value of stepping in front of the mic (I’m so trained and I prefer to stay in the shadows). 🥂Cheers to Spring + warmer weather!!
