Saudi Arabia is increasingly becoming a hub for major sporting events, reflecting its citizens’ growing interest in sports. The Kingdom has successfully hosted several notable events, such as high-profile boxing matches, ATP tennis tournaments, and Formula 1 races, starting in 2021. The momentum is set to continue with an exciting lineup of future events. These include the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2025, the AFC Asian Cup in 2027, the Asian Winter Games in 2029, the Asian Games in 2034, and the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup also in 2034. By 2030, the sports sector in Saudi Arabia is expected to expand by 5 to 7 times, fueled by investments and the considerable untapped commercial potential in the market. #WarriorGroup #warriorgroupexperience #Bringingadventuretolife #AdventureExperts #MiddleEastAdventure #adventuretrends #WarriorRadar #MEA #SaudiArabia

⚽ The best team in the land and all the world? 🏆 The FIFA Club World Cup kicks off today, with Saudi champions Al Ittihad opening the tournament taking place in their home city of Jeddah. In the UK, the competition isn't usually given too much attention, perhaps because there is, at most, one English club competing, or perhaps because it takes place in the middle of what many fans here consider their bread and butter - the league season. That being said, I'm quite looking forward to this year's edition. Now, this is probably helped by the fact that my club is competing for the first time, with the chance to add another new trophy to the cabinet, and that I'll be doing some work on tournament-related content. More than that, however, it's a great chance to watch teams we very rarely get to see in action, with lesser-known players and, perhaps, interesting or unusual playing styles. As is often the case, the European Champions, Manchester City, will be fairly strong favourites to lift the trophy, but (unfortunately) their form has been a bit shaky of late. Meanwhile, the Saudi side have added some genuinely huge talents to their squad, which could see them go a long way. With seven games over the next ten days, it'll certainly make for entertaining viewing alongside the regular league and European fixtures. Will you be watching? What are you most looking forward to about the tournament? #LITranslators #Football #Translation

The FIFA male and female Under 17 World Cup, in which I played in the first ever edition in 1985, are to become annual events from 2025 to 2029. It seems the influence of Qatar, alongside Saudi Arabia are now becoming even more acute as the game expands tournaments with little, if any thought or explanation as to how it impacts the players, firstly, the fans or the game around the world. Today, as we saw with the 2030 men’s World Cup which will bizarrely be played over three continents simply to bypass the rules of rotation and clear the path for Saudi Arabia to host 2034, it’s clearly all business. How do countries qualify, if it’s annual? How do young players transition into professional football, if it’s annual and presumably they will need to play a number of qualification games along with the expanded tournament? What about the right of other countries to grow their domestic games through hosting? Why are tournaments being locked up in one country over extended periods? Why 5 years in Qatar, and Morocco? FIFA’s only comment seems to be, we need to use the stadia: ‘FIFA said the decision to choose a single host nation for multiple editions centred on the ability to make “use of existing footballing infrastructure in the interest of tournament efficiencies and sustainability”.’ ‘Tournament efficiencies and sustainability?’ What about the players? And the game? Crazy.

Saudi Arabia has officially launched its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, following Qatar's successful hosting of the 2022 event. With no other contenders in sight, the bid is poised for success, bringing the prestigious tournament back to the Gulf region. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) emphasizes their campaign, "Growing. Together.," showcasing the nation's commitment to fostering international bonds through sports. SAFF President Yasser Al Misehal underscores the nation's progress in both men's and women's soccer, inviting the world to join their journey. As the bidding process progresses, all eyes are on FIFA's decision, set to be confirmed at the end-of-year FIFA Congress. With the 2030 tournament already assigned to Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, Saudi Arabia emerges as a frontrunner for the 2034 event, poised to showcase its passion for soccer on a global stage. #SaudiArabia #sports #fifaworldcup

Saudi Arabia, the sole bidder for the 2034 World Cup, will host the 48-team tournament across fifteen stadiums in five cities, including eight in the capital, Riyadh. This announcement follows the kingdom’s official bid submission to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Saudi Arabia aims to host “the largest-ever edition” of the tournament in a single country, as detailed in their bid book. The submission of the bid book to FIFA marks the third stage in the official bid process to secure hosting rights for the 2034 tournament. The next stages will include official visits by FIFA and a comprehensive evaluation of the bid. FIFA #saudiarabia #fifa #fifa2034
