It’s a wrap. Congrats to another amazing class of NYU Stern School of Business MBA students for completing our strategy consulting class. Really appreciate how everyone leaned in to build new skills and practical client case experience over the past three months. As my co-professors Brett B., Yasmin Ibrahim and I have discussed in class - you should be so proud of your new skills and experiences in problem solving, analytics, teaming, client relationship building and storytelling - to name but a few. I also appreciate how much commitment, focus and grace you showed during last week’s class where the tension and volume was raised given the protests and subsequent arrests. Sorry I will miss next week’s final class and panel discussion. Whether your next destination is external consulting, industry, internal strategy or you’re a part time student in a full time job - we know you’re in good shape to apply these skills in the market real soon. 🎓🌟 A Journey of Growth and Discovery 🌟🎓 As I sit down on this final weekend of the formal classes for my Executive MBA at Melbourne Business School, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions. The past 18 months have been an extraordinary adventure, one that began with over 60 strangers and has culminated in a close-knit community of friends, confidants, and partners in a few unforgettable escapades. This journey has been more than just an academic pursuit; it's been a transformative experience that has challenged and enriched my understanding of leadership, strategy, innovation, and so much more. Throughout this time, I've had the privilege of engaging with brilliant professors who ignited thought-provoking debates, pushing us to think beyond conventional boundaries. The insights shared by visiting executives and C- Level guests have been invaluable, offering a real-world perspective that complemented our theoretical studies. From dissecting the complexities of mergers and acquisitions to navigating the ethical dimensions of business decisions, every module has been a stepping stone in my growth as a leader and strategist. As I prepare to turn the page on this chapter, I find myself reflecting on the wealth of knowledge and experiences I've gained. 🎓 A couple of days ago, I achieved a long-awaited dream: completing and graduating from my MBA at INSEAD ✨ Before starting 10 months ago, I set three goals for myself: 1. Secure a full-time role upon graduation 💼 2. Build lasting friendships and connections 🌍 3. Academically benefit from my MBA 📚 I’m proud to say that, through INSEAD, I have accomplished these goals✅. With the challenging market conditions, I was extremely fortunate, and I will be commencing my journey with a summer role at Private Equity firm Creador before moving back into consulting. During the program, I was immersed in a truly global and diverse group of individuals representing 66 different nationalities 🌎. I developed connections with many that I believe has turned into lifelong friendships that will only grow stronger over the years. With that, I'm happy to say that I now have many open doors around the world 🏠. Completing 16 core subjects, 15 electives, and a sustainability capstone, I gained knowledge that has profoundly changed my mindset and outlook 🧠. My passion for Private Equity was further ignited by the electives, which helped me navigate the field better. Courses like Managing Corporate Turnaround taught by Professor Joost de Haas provided me with the tools to manage distressed firms, while Professor Pierre Chandon's Brand Management class transformed my previously skeptical view of Marketing with his in-depth case studies 📈 and teaching. Other courses that significantly impacted my thinking included Psychological Issues of Management by Professor Spencer Harrison, Competitive Supply Chains, Negotiations, Strategy Lab, among others 💡. To my fellow classmates of 24J, congratulations to everyone! 🎉 We made it and are amongst the selective bunch who completed a 2-year program in 10 months as Dean Mark Stabile would say. Dissecting the Flaws in the last QS Rankings Dear All, As everyone knows, I do not place any value on the QS rankings. QS derives its income from events and advertising. Imagine Nunzio Quaquerelli, the CEO of QS, telling IE, its top client that contributes millions of dollars, that he cannot seriously rank IE, which selects students solely on the size of the parents' bank account... This ranking is not entirely without merit as HEC, ESSEC, LBS, INSEAD, and ESADE are more or less in their rightful places. The anomalies? ESCP at #6, IE at #4, Copenhagen at #9, and WU Wien at #10. No comments! The absentees? IESE? CEMS? Bocconi? ESMT? The scandal? The US Master's in Management programs: Chicago, Kellogg, Duke, Cornell...not ranked!!
