The Key to Successful Software Deliveries: Efficient Efforts Estimation In the world of software development, precise efforts estimation is the cornerstone of successful project delivery. Accurate estimates help in setting realistic timelines, managing resources effectively, and meeting customer expectations. Few best practices that have consistently proven to enhance the accuracy of efforts estimation: 1. Break Down the Work- Decompose the project into smaller, manageable tasks. This not only makes the estimation process easier but also helps in identifying potential risks early. 2. Leverage Historical Data -Use data from previous projects to inform your estimates. Historical data provides valuable insights into the time and resources required for similar tasks. 3. Involve the Team- Engage your team in the estimation process. Diverse perspectives lead to more accurate estimates and foster a sense of ownership among team members. 4. Consider All Factors- Take into account all aspects of the project, including potential roadblocks, dependencies, and the availability of resources. Comprehensive estimation reduces the likelihood of unforeseen issues derailing the project. 5. Iterate and Adjust- Continuous feedback and iteration are crucial. Regularly compare actual progress against estimates and adjust as needed. This agile approach ensures that the project remains on track. Efficient efforts estimation is not just a planning exercise; it’s a strategic practice that drives successful project outcomes. Let’s continue to refine our estimation techniques to deliver exceptional software solutions on time, every time. #SoftwareDevelopment #ProjectManagement #EffortsEstimation #Agile #Scrum #Efficiency

When starting a software project, defining the project objectives and its purpose is key. Don't think that because you haven't started with the code you are wasting time... on the contrary, you are gaining valuable time and the possibility of making fewer errors and delays! #softwareprojects #customsoftware #softwaredevelopment #cicd #agile #planning #goals

Killing the deadlines. In this article, I share my way of dealing with estimates in software development. As I can't predict the future, I use a statistical approach, which opens up great discussions. Ever used this kind of approach? Any idea to make it even better? #estimates #agile #noestimates https://bit.ly/438iwv4

“It’s time to question Agile’s cult following” Strong but fair words—Agile is too often held in one hand and thumped with the other to push a selective interpretation of the ‘scripture’ that suits the thumper’s own agenda. You can shortcut all the interpretation by remembering that it’s meant to be about just 4 things: the people, the product, the customer, and flexibility.
“According to the study, putting a specification in place before development begins can result in a 50 percent increase in success, and making sure the requirements are accurate to the real-world problem can lead to a 57 percent increase.” “Projects where engineers felt they had the freedom to discuss and address problems were 87 percent more likely to succeed” #businessanalysis #requirements #digitaltransformation #powerplatform #agile #waterfall https://lnkd.in/gajUa3sr

To increase net profit per IT project there are not so many ways. We can`t increase the price to customer, we can`t decrease the salaries of developers. And the only one parameter we can touch is the Days Per Project. Using simple math we can understand very fast that if we deliver the IT project ready within 20% less days it will increase the net profit of the project. Our system Improvinn IT with management add-ons (not software add-ons). These are simple changes in the way the IT company works which can increase the performance of the IT team. If the company is using Scrum we are not going to change this. We will just add some small changes which are easy to be implemented, the developers like them very much and the good results are coming during the first week. Part of the system are two very important tools : 1. Measuring the increasement in performance of the developers. 2. Measuring the net profit of the project. Implementing peak performance tools is a main part of Improvinn IT and when the focus is net profit of the company it is very easy to measure the result. If the company is using kanban again we can implement Improvinn IT. The most difficult part in developing our system was to create simple add-ons which can be integrated together with the already working roadmap systems which the IT company is already using. The big advantages of Improvinn IT are: 1. Easy to implement simple add-ons. 2. Developers like the add-ons very much. 3. Tools for measuring net profit and performance. 4. Fast good results. 5. The add-ons work together with the company's management systems. Write to me if you have questions. The picture: Back to the future :) #scrum #itproject #agile
