Have you noticed how much chatter there is about RI lately? Here is another article, this one from the Los Angeles Times. RI (Rapid Intensification) is when a hurricane's maximum sustained wind increases by 35 mph or more in a 24-hour period. It is imperative that we get improve our observation and forecast capabilities. Tropical Weather Analytics, Inc. Hurricane Hunter Satellites will be the very first sats to collect vertical wind data at +/- 1 meter per second at 100 meter scale. Current satellites collect wind data at 1km to 2km scale. Think about this for a moment. That is an improvement of 10 to 20X over current technology! Now also consider that these will be the only satellites to measure cloud altitudes at sufficient resolution to model hurricanes as a Carnot Engine. This method of modeling over the current Dvorak and Advanced Dvorak will reduce hPa uncertainty by at least half. The Hurricane Hunter Satellites are the best tool for forecasting RI.     As the article headline suggests, there may be no simple answers for space debris mitigation, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t answers and technologies on the way. One company that Tropical Weather Analytics, Inc. have started to work closely with has a 3-fold strategy to reducing #spacejunk. Orbotic Systems Inc is not just trying to reduce space debris at the source (reliable deorbit) but also has an in-situ space weather sensor and a space junk removal system in the works. What does space weather have to do with space junk? If you know, you know. I agree with this article that there are no “simple answers” but I believe there are options out there for sustainable space. https://lnkd.in/eAXCtS8D

    First thought, How are Tesla's claims of "full self-driving" and human voiced/controlled "robots" being passed off as "real" not intentional fraud aimed at duping both consumers and investors? Second thought, I manned the bar over the summer and served 140-160 drinks in a 45-minute span every night (with help of an additional bar tender). This human controlled "robot" is not 1/10th as productive. The person controlling this "robot" bartender should be embarrassed.

    The Chairman of Tropical Weather Analytics, Inc.’s Science Advisory Board, Kerry Emanuel was one of the first to demonstrate the link between #ClimateChange and hurricanes. Yes, hurricanes will become more frequent and intense and harder to predict as the oceans warm. Dr. Emanuel introduced a new way of modeling hurricanes that the Hurricane Hunter Satellites will use to deliver 12hr earlier and 2X more accurate forecasts.

    #ClimateChange and #HurricaneMilton: connecting dots!!! the World Weather Attribution has found that climate change increased the hurricane's rainfall by 20-30% and strengthened its wind speeds by approximately 10%. Storms with rainfall similar to Hurricane Milton are now about twice as likely to occur as they would be without human-induced warming.
