Blown away by The Canadian Collaborative Research Network’s inaugural CardioMet Symposium. From the opening address delivered by FDA Commissioner Robert Califf to uniquely interactive presentations that integrated audience participation, today was chock-full of thought-provoking insights that will undoubtedly steer the future of cardiometabolic medicine. Three key takeaways from the first session (1/19): 1)      Successfully implementing AI technologies require indisputable patient-centricity that warrants seamless adoption into everyday practice 2)     AI will augment, but not replace practitioners due to the nuance, context, and edge cases that demand human intuition over mathematical computation 3)     Like in oncology, reimagining standards for diagnostic/prognostic assessment present transformative opportunity to improve cardiac patient outcomes Many thanks to the panel of visionaries and looking forward to the second session next week (1/26)!

Today’s #ThursdayDiscovery sheds light on the research by David B. Jaroch et al., demonstrating how Pressure Enabled Drug Delivery (PEDD) significantly enhances the penetration of therapeutic microspheres into liver tumors. This study, utilizing the TriNav device, showcases the power of advanced drug delivery techniques to improve treatment efficacy.   🔍 Visiopharm software was utilized for image analysis to quantify the signal intensity of fluorescently labeled glass microspheres in tumor tissues. The software employed a Deep Learning algorithm to differentiate between normal liver and tumorous tissue and to measure the penetration of microspheres into the tumors.   The analysis showed significant increases in microsphere penetration into tumors with PEDD compared to conventional methods.   👉 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gCt9NFK3   #oncotopixdiscovery #livercancer #staycurious

Exciting news! A recent study published in Science Advances describes a new method for tracking single cells in vivo using PET imaging. The study used Bio-Techne Hana Cell Sorter and Single Cell Dispenser to automate single-cell dispensing of individually labelled cells with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) that could be tracked using PET imaging. The workflow established allowed the researchers to track the movement of over 70 melanoma cells throughout the body and observe their arrest in small capillaries of various organs. This breakthrough has huge potential for understanding the earliest stages of cell trafficking in disease and cell-based therapies.
