Executive Assistants - they are so much more than calendar keepers, expense managers, and travel agents. They're business partners, especially with the right executive. They're confidants and sounding boards, and they're the eyes and ears of the executive's office - regularly seeing issues on the team before the executive is ever aware of those issues. They're the culture builders. Never is an Executive Assistant "just an EA." If you are an Executive Assistant who is seen as "just an EA," then you're in the wrong role with the wrong executive. This is an excellent article about how some top EA's have grown into other roles, but it's also a reminder that it's more than OK to make a career as an Executive Assistant. It's a career of which you should be proud. Why? Because as 🚀 Al-Husein Madhany 🚀says, "'I managed the most important resource at the company,' in other words, a top executive’s time." #DeltaDallas #ExecutiveSupport #EA #CSuitePartners

One of the smartest things an executive can do is realize and appreciate their right-hand person for the value and significance they bring to his/her role and to empower their EA to utilize and build his/her strengths, not squander them.

Executive Assistant to COO, and the transition was a natural one because the executives I supported mentored me and gave me opportunities to demonstrate my leadership skills. Big thanks to the (now retired) Marcus Peacock for helping me reach the next rung in my career ladder.

Started as an admin assistant now I’m killing it in budget. It’s a great career to build a foundation on.

I am an executive assistant with over 25 years of experience. This post and article is spot on. This statement is the key to success: “They're business partners, especially with the right executive.” Hats off to Executive Assistants that are making a difference.
