Bernardo de Gálvez is not only the hero of American independence who led an army of 7,000 men. Bernardo de Gálvez was not only a prominent military man who ended up as viceroy in Mexico. Bernardo de Gálvez is a decisive and transcendental figure in enhancing Spanish in the United States. Without it, the importance of language in world power would not be understood. The economic crisis has reinforced the relationship between the United States and the European Union providing for the negotiation of the most significant economic agreement: “the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership”. Spain, considering the increasing importance of “hispanic development” in North America, occupies a position of privilege as a key player in the new relations between the countries of the two continents, as it has happened throughout history. Consequently, the aim of the Documentary is to highlight this opportunity through a historical analysis of Bernardo de Gálvez’ figure togteher with the incresaing comercial, cultural and social relations between the United States, Mexico and Spain.
