Why do designer's, architects insist on moving designs away from the original survey coordinates?!? 🤯 Got a customer, small house builder we shall call him, no previous experience in surveying or setting out, we have been helping him with GPS and total station (hybrid) for a couple of years now, all going great. He needed a design moved back to GPS coordinates so that he could set it out. He went out to site, surveyed some common detail to the design, all great on his part. Sent it back to the designer so that he could move the design to the GPS coordinates. Customer phones me 'can you help me load this drawing into my controller?' No problem, of course I can remote logs into controller and takes over. Loads new design in, design doesn't show up where it should do 🤔 tries again, maybe it is in millimetres, nope! turns background mapping on, appears in the middle of the sea just off the south coast!!! Designer has only gone and moved the GPS survey to his design coordinates, not only that its upside down!!! Why? oh why? oh why? I just dont get it!!!
