🎉 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟒𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐎! 🎉 Last week, Lusocargo's teams gathered to mark an incredible milestone: 40 years since its foundation in 1984! As the largest 100% national freight forwarder in Portugal, this achievement highlights everyone’s dedication and resilience into pushing the company towards success. The event counted the presence of Kaci Kébaïli, President & Founder of Groupe BBL, together with Joao Silva and Viriato Albuquerque, respectively Managing Director of Lusocargo and Founder of Lusocargo SUL. Kaci shared his vision, stating, “𝘛𝘰 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘺 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.” The highlight? A graduate who recently joined EY died within just 4 months of working there. This is incredibly heartbreaking. Anna joined EY as an Audit and Assurance Executive, which was her dream job. She was quickly overloaded with work. She struggled to sleep and began to feel chest pains. By the letter written by her mother: She was asked to work late nights and weekends. She was met with a lack of empathy. She felt like she couldn’t say no. The pressure was too much, her health deteriorated and she passed away. No one from EY attended her funeral. I’m disgusted by the disregard for Anna’s life. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Companies need to realise that they’re not hiring AI worker droids. Please remind yourself: No job or company is worth sacrificing your health, ever. There’s more to life than work. Take care of yourself and check in with others 🙏🏽
