Autonomous auto racing is not just about speed and competition, it's also driving advancements in AI and autonomous vehicle safety. The Indy Autonomous Challenge and similar competitions are showcasing the potential of AI in controlling vehicles at high speeds. You wouldn’t think high-performing race cars could teach a thing or two for everyday vehicles but surprisingly there are some interesting takeaways that can be used. This example from autonomous racing cars is a prime example. The same autonomous systems can be implemented and reworked to function for the modern vehicle that you and I drive. They can be programmed to meet expectations for certain driving conditions, navigation, or just ordinary conditions for street traffic. The AI and advanced machines aren’t just exclusive to the race track. They have a chance to be used on every run-of-the-mill street or highway. #AI #Cars #CarTechnology #Driving #Automotive
