Average recruiter (usually contingent priced): Send me the job description, I’ll go try. Me: I’m not going to take your money and spend my team’s time going to look for something that doesn’t exist. Let’s talk about what is important about your unicorn - is it the horn? Because there are several options we can consider if that is most important. Is it the coloring and markings? Talk me through it so we can consult on a strategy that aligns with what is out there, and bring you a successful outcome. 🦄 This is a scenario that plays out all the time. If your ask is unreasonable and we know that, we are going to educate you about what we know right away. Sometimes we don’t know we are looking for a unicorn.
