All human beings have a fundamental desire to feel like they belong. The efforts our team at Bluevine does, like so many other companies, on the front of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, help make sure we interact and work in a way that promotes a sense of belonging. With AI sweeping into our lives at a rising speed, the promises—and challenges—that come with combining AI with inclusion are complex.  Recently, I had the opportunity to talk about this with Nadia Edwards-Dashti on The DEI Discussions.  It’s clear that AI will have a big impact on organizations. Good things come to those who wait, and that includes anyone wondering when my next "Kassi &" podcast episode was going to drop. This Wednesday the brilliant Veronika Macurová Křížová joins me to talk about post-mortem personality rights. Yes, it's a mouthful but it's also something everyone should be thinking about now that our lives lived on social media may come to haunt us with our synthetic selves. There are so many things to think about beyond just deepfakes when it comes to generative AI. We've not really had to wonder or put in place mechanisms to make sure our likenesses have certain rights after death. Then add in a few other things like first amendment rights and a patchwork of emerging laws, and the topic gets challenging quickly. The good thing is that Veronika makes for a delightful guest, one I'm sure you'll all enjoy. Geoffrey Hinton, "The Godfather of AI",seems to be everywhere these days, but I found this interview with On The Media striking. In it Hinton offers one of the clearest definitions of artificial general intelligence that I have heard. He describes it as analogous to a hologram, something that encorporates a broad spectrum of inputs to develop a deeper understanding, a process that is close to how the human brain works.
