Their stalwart commitment and inclusive entrepreneurship in the face of waves of adversity, and their willingness to support innovative solutions has been an example of how to “walk the walk” of social justice in the real world. I’ll always be grateful for the chance they took on me, the recent PhD grad who kept persistently calling up saying: I really, really want to work with you. They found a way to say “yes”, and it has made all the difference for me. They do this for hundreds of people in Ohio, finding ways to say “yes” to would be entrepreneurs who, without ECDI , would likely not have the support necessary to start and grow their idea into an impactful new business. After living in Tampa for the past 2 years, my husband and I finally emptied our storage unit. I came across a framed article from Crain's New York Business that featured a story on me and my first company, iLounge, circa 2000. Not surprisingly, it was a social networking company during NYC’s first dotcom boom. Who remembers the “Silicon Alley” era?
