The 30 days of Ramadan passed in the blink of an eye. The essence of Ramadan—marked by night-long prayers, acts of kindness, the calm and peace and return to sacred values—resonates deeply within me. Additionally, I love one more thing: the family iftar gatherings.
I am fortunate to be part of a large extended family, thanks to my grandparents, which includes uncles, aunts, cousins, their spouses and children, in-laws, their families, nieces, and nephews, among others. During Ramadan, many of our family members host iftars, with some opting for home settings and others choosing hotels. Regardless of the venue, we gather in large numbers—around 80 to 100 of us, with a few extra guests.
This frequent assembly, sharing of meals, and exchange of stories and joy creates an incredible bond among us, enhancing our emotional connections and overall well-being.
In a world dominated by digital distractions and endless scrolling, these family gatherings are a breath of fresh air. The children among us experience various forms of affection and make friendships within the family. I hope these shared experiences will support them throughout their lives.
As Ramadan departs, it's not just the spiritual enrichment we will miss, but also the conversations, and togetherness of our iftar gatherings—cherished moments that remind us of what truly matters in life.♥️
