International Women's Rights Day #IWD: A look at the place of women in French car dealerships! 💫 On International Women's Rights Day👩💼, it's important to celebrate the progress made by women in all fields, including the car industry, which has traditionally been dominated by men.   Contrary to popular belief, the proportion of women in the management bodies of car dealerships continues to rise 👏 with an average of 33% of women sitting on boards of directors in Europe, and an average of 18.9% of women holding management positions 💪! These figures, while encouraging, show that there is still some way to go to achieve parity in the automotive sector.   As automotive professionals🚗, we all have a role to play in creating a more inclusive and diverse environment. #Nextlane wants to accelerate the march towards parity in our business and we are thinking about a number of initiatives to achieve this goal as quickly as possible.   Let's celebrate the women who are driving the automotive industry forward and commit to continuing to work towards greater equality of opportunity.   #InternationalWomensRightsDay #WomenInTheAutomobile #Diversity #Inclusion

It's not about this one day alone. Its not about that "one woman who made history." We all need "more like us" everywhere. Its important to - Consciously understand our own biases, assumptions that play out during important decisions & even casual discussions. - Acknowledge the gap in womens' presence across all industries & look at ways to accelerate womens' growth. The least that can be done is give the opportunity without biases to the women raising their hand. - Women to consciously come out of comfort zone, do positive self talk, overcome your fears, understand that failure is important, experiment, fail, learn, grow. Take risks and take up the responsible positions. Raise your hand. Else we can never be "one among many". - Stop being only the "good obedient girl". Have your point of view, speak up, learn to actively listen as well. - In professional environment, women don't need protection. That causes women to be in comfort zone. Instead, allow them to fly & fail. Most learning is in failure. Be their mentor if required. But dont just "protect" them and keep them in "backend" jobs. There is a lot at stake especially when you are "one amonst very few". Each person is unique, each one has unique talent . How good this world be if we all can fly to our fullest potential?

Period. Utilising your superiors, coaches or mentors, co-workers, understanding your own work-styles and energy zappers, and sticking to your goal are all ways you can successfully overcome challenges and help people around you too. 👉 Personal growth and investing in yourself is where it is at. 👉 There are so many opportunities in tech - these days tech requires more critical thinking, communication, creativity and future thinking - skills are very transferrable.
